Technically if only 1000 were made and it sold out within 3 minutes, it's a find to me. In the $200+ margin on Ebay now, but I don't plan on selling it.
Almost forgot-
Goodwill, I found Donkey Kong Jungle Beat (New Play Control) Wii for $1.00
Video Game "Look what I found"
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
You need the PS3 game in the disc tray to activate it if memory serves.wclem wrote:Got Portal 2 for PS3 for ten bucks, cheapest I have seen it as of yet. There was a Steam code in it for a copy of the game. Since the game was used I do not know if it is any good or not. I also DO NOT need it as I have it over there already.
If someone wants to try the code PM me and it is yours.....all you have to do is let me know if it worked. Cross your fingers!
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
If I remember, you need to link your PS3 account to your Steam account to get it.
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Ok, well probably a waste of time for someone then. Oh well, I am sur eI will have more codes at another time. Hate seeing them go to waste.emwearz wrote:You need the PS3 game in the disc tray to activate it if memory serves.wclem wrote:Got Portal 2 for PS3 for ten bucks, cheapest I have seen it as of yet. Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Some nice pick-ups here this week, today in particular.
My favorite thrift store gave me a couple of nice goodies again this week, as usual.

Someone cut out the barcode on the bottom of Warcraft and did a crappy job, forcing me to use me ninja glue skills to fix it. I'm
convinced people do things like that just to piss me off.
Warcraft III - $1
Arma II - $1.50
Stalker - $1.50
Counter Strike - $1
Maximum Pool (new) - $0.50
Almost completely missed the Dreamcast game amongst the CDs (probably because I'm not used to seeing them.), so that was a nice surprise.
Today, Mom and I decided to go thrifting. We went to 4 different shops and all I'd managed to find was a wee Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 GBA game.

$2.30, in case you're wondering.
By the time we were exiting the 4th store, I was about ready to call it a day when Mom asked if I wanted to go to Kmart (She hates that place, but I love it, and she's nice like that.) I almost said "No", since the place is pretty much dead to me after Gamestop closed. (There's like four shops left. It's very sad.) But, figured we might as well since we were so close. What the hell, right?
So I stroll in, not expecting much, when I notice they're having a sale. As I made my way down the aisle something caught my eye from behind the shinny piece of glass that had definitely not been there the last time I'd checked: Kirby's Return to Dreamland.
I'd missed out on picking it up before the price started going up, so I was hopeful for a decent deal.
My joy was temporarily squashed when I noticed, unlike all the other games, that it didn't have a price tag
Well, nutter buggers. So I meandered around for a little while waiting for the lone employee in the electronics department to finish checking people out so I could ask her if she could tell me how much it cost. She happily obliged and pulled one of the three copies out, showing a $49.99 sticker attached to the front of the second copy. Considering that's about the price I'd have to pay for a used copy, I wasn't to perturbed. But she said she was going to check the price anyway, since so many games were on sale.
She scanned the game and made a face
Apparently Mr. Cash Register did not have it listed. She pulled out the portable scanner and tried again. Nothing. She tried typing in the barcode (or whatever they're supposed to type in) manually. Still nothing. So she tracked down a manager who scanned it with a separate scanner and turned to me and said, "For some reason it's not in our system anymore. I'll give it to you for $10."
SOLD! I'll take two!

I then joyfully skipped out of the store, while mother trailed behind me, shaking her head in embarrassment and trying to pretend that I was not, in fact, her offspring.
I left the third copy at the store with a brand new, yellow 9.99 sticker on it. Hopefully some nice Kirby fan will find it and it'll make their day.

^Nice!
I had a Wii find myself today. Luckily found a Classic Controller Pro at a random GameStop pop in. I was amazed, because I can't find these things anywhere for a decent price. $17, but no money out of my pocket because I had some credit to burn.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Found these at a garage sale today for $35 total.
Not the greatest deal I've ever gotten but I'm really looking forward to trying out Hotel Dusk. The Mario DS still has it's screen protectors on and seems like it's never even been used.

Concerning the ColecoVision Flashback I picked up a few days ago, I noticed ToysrUs indeed yanked all the Flashbacks off the shelf with a return supposed to be on October 1st. There is still a Coleco price tag at the empty shelf. I regret now not snagging the Intellivision Flashback before the mix up, maybe pick that up later on. I have been reading September 22nd as the day the Flashbacks will be authorized for sale at ToysrUs. Hope that early date announcement helps some to get a head start in buying one.
Has anyone else had any luck getting any of the Flashbacks early?

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
I hit a game store today, and I picked up:
Ms. Pac-Man (NES) - $12
Mision: Impossible (N64) - $5
Dirt Jockey: Heavy Equipment Operator (PS1; CIB) - $8
Overlord: Dark Legend (WII; CIB) - $6
I am very excited about Ms. Pac-Man because it it the hard-to-find Namco version of the game and one of the few games I need to complete my NES collection. (My three-year-old son, however, is really, really excited about Dirt Jockey...
)
I also stopped by a Gamestop yesterday and grabbed:

I always thought this was some sort of mini-game collection, but apparently, it is a 2D, 4-player, side-scrolling beat 'em up inspired by The Behemoth's Castle Crashers. It has mixed reviews, and I hesisitated a bit before picking it up...
