Are you a prisoner? He's putting a roof over your head and not charging rent - if you need praise every time you do a chore you're in for a rude awakening. if i'd ever called my father a twat or anything similar, he would've slapped the taste out of my mouth and i'd have deserved it.

Nah, man. I mean, yeah, calling someone a "twat" certainly isn't very nice, but no one deserves physical abuse, I don't think. Plus, it's polite to say "thanks" when someone does something for you!

We have different definitions of physical abuse.

Did you thank your parents every time they turned the heat on or drove you to school? What a great world it would be if we all did that, but most of us don't. Since we are not living in utopia here on Earth, let's prepare him for this world, eh? Getting a free roof after high school in exchange for chores is a pretty good deal and should come without insults and disrespect.

No. Coming home drunk from the bar and being angry at the world and taking it out on your kid - that's abuse. Beating your wife because she forgot to do the dishes, that's abuse. Abuse requires "repeated or being done on regular basis", i'll go with Webster on this one.

Frown: There's some bugs with the Doomsday engine related to playing Hexen; the net result is that some of the trigger variables aren't properly persisted in a save game, so if you reload while doing one of the hubs you can end up in a state where you can't go forward because the game doesn't think you've flipped some of the switches (even though you have, and you can't reflip them). I've ended up needing to use noclip on the first three hubs to get past doors that were supposed to open and I'm just going to set things aside until Doomsday 1.5 comes out. If the game didn't have so much awkward platforming I'd consider trying to power through with a single save at the start of a hub, but I'm not going to put up with the frustration of missing a jump and needing to redo half the hub.

I'll leave this.

We're talking about a grown adult insulting another grown adult - whom is living with the other adult rent free. By your own definition you just linked, popo, calling him a "twat" is also abuse. to speak insultingly, harshly, and unjustly to or about; revile; malign
