A little over three weeks ago I launched a FundAnything.com campaign to raise $4,000 to move to NYC and so far I've got $220, minus fees.

It's got 71 days left.

So check it out.

Not to criticise. But I have ask why?
Sure you can bond with them, but it wouldn't be the same for me. Deep down I would know they aren't biologically mine. That isn't to say you can't love or care for a child adopted, but it just isn't quite the same.
My brother has 2 stepkids - the boy was barely 3 when my bro got together with his now wife, and the girl was barely 1. He considers them his kids, 100%. The daughter's even occasionally slipped and called him dad (her dad lives in the same city, though not town, and they go there every other weekend, standard shared-custody stuff).

My brother also has 1 kid of his own with his wife. When they were expecting, somehow or another the conversation of "Do you think this will be different?" came up. His response was "I want to believe that I will feel no difference between Isabella and the other kids, but realistically I wouldn't be surprised if I do end up feeling a difference."

I should really followup and find out, it's been... 3 years now I think? Or it'll be 3 years in September? (I know, I know, I'm a bad brother for not being sure about it)... but I'd be curious how reality has synched up with expectations.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed

:D : Lots of good friends, family, food & booze over the past few days to start wrapping up the summer.

 : Summer is over soon

:? : I sold a dupe Super Metroid cart on eBay. I fired it up for a few minutes to test it first, listed it as "Acceptable" condition and as "tested."

Got this email from the buyer:
Just got around to testing this game & there seems to be an internal problem. You can't play on 2 of the files(2 & 3). When you arrive at Ceres Station to rescue the larva, Samus immediately dies & it asks if you would like to try again.....before you have even tried. Plus I got a blank screen a few times right after the title screen. File #1 seems to work OK but with the other 2 messed up I will need to return this for a refund. Please verify the correct address to send it to. Thanks
Do you think I owe them a return/refund?

I would expect a refund in that situation.

Its tough. You tested it, and testing can't be expected to notice everything. But... with 2 of the save files not working, there could be a case made that the flaw would have been noticeable had the cart been tested (Not to say you didn't test it)

If I were the buyer, I would want my money back. If I was the seller, I would probably refund. Dude seems legit from the message, and looks like he found some weird flaws that don't necessarily attribute to a failing battery, unless a failing battery can do weird stuff like this to a game? Sounds like he is hitting a kill plane that is in the wrong spot of something, very weird.

I'm with dunpeal on this one. The buyer seems very genuine, and a lot like "one of us" (gooble gobble).

Smile: After the usual True Blood party we spoke with my buddy Andy Pants via skype who is in Abu Dhabi.

Frown: Skype on the xboxone is terrible. At least for this "visit". It made Sewer Shark look like it was 1080p.

whoa

I've only heard a lion roar in person once in my life, and it was incredible. Much like standing next to a jet set for take off, the sound is so loud is resonates through your chest. I can not imagine being that close to a roaring lion.

Come to think of it, I can't imagine being close to a lion where there wasn't a barrier.

Yup. It's not your fault either, but the fact is that the game isn't working properly for him and it wasn't described that way in the auction.

Dave - i've had a similar situation (not the specifics, but the general idea, the sincere and specific message listing specific issues I hadn't noticed). Allowed the return - and got back some bozos repro cart. After hours lost with customer support and never winning the case I moved to a strict no refunds / as-is on every item I sell.

I haven't seen any dip in the price my items sell for and i've done zero refunds / lost cases in a couple years.

I'd ask him if he can take a picture of YOUR cart in the slot when the error comes up on screen - if he can - i'd refund, if he can't, politely ask him to open a case.

Had a similar situation a few years ago when a copy of R-Type DX I got from an Ebay seller did not work properly. Only the first game out of the 3 (R-Type, R-Type II, and R-Type II DX Color I believe) on the cart worked. Selecting the other modes just froze the cartridge. The listing said it had been tested, though it seems just turned on long enough to boot up to the title screen.

I did not have a bit to open it at the time, so in lieu of inspecting the cart I messaged the seller and he offered me a refund for a return and was apologetic, but it was only a few bucks and it was partially playable anyways so I let it go.

A while later I was able to open it up and clean it, but the problem still persisted. If there was a battery surely that was an "a-ha thats it" moment, but I don't recall for sure and if so had no replacement tabbed CR2032's laying around anyways.

But on the flipside i've sold a few games on Ebay, and testing a game usually is just booting it up and playing a few minutes. But I always state as such, and clearly say that despite being tested it is still sold "as is", and offer no refunds outside of whatever Ebay's policy is.

Don't know how much that would hold up with Ebay in a similar dispute, but "as is" seems to cover the fact that despite being tested on my end there is no absolute, ironclad 100% guarantee it will work upon arrival for the buyer.
