No it's pretty shitty if someone would leave you after finding out a vasectomy reversal didn't work. I know having kids is important to a lot of women but not in the age range of girls I've been dating, or even see myself dating in the next few years.
And there's always adoption or a sperm donor too if you (or future partner) wanted a kid later and it was irreversible. People put too much concern in their child being of the same blood. This is your choice and a fine choice.
I just disagree. For me, I wouldn't have the same attachment if the child wasn't my own. This is something that would be important to many.
It is definitely his choice, and I am a big proponent of making our own personal decisions. It just seems if he is already contemplating a future reversal, it may not be a decision he is fully settled on yet, or is perhaps made under duress given his recent personal circumstances.

But thats my point. The different attachment is an illusion. If you were under the impression a child was your offspring would your attachment change if you found out later in life they weren't? Would you unknowingly have a different feeling of attachment the whole time when you were blind to the truth? If you met a kid and didn't know it was yours would you still form this attachment not knowing?

For women I could see it somewhat though since they carried the child to term sharing a body and going through the pain of childbirth. But still if they had an in vitro fertilization of a donors egg that bond would still hold. Or I would even say a switched birth and not knowing the bond would hold.

But I did say "to much concern" not that people shouldn't care at all or that there is no reason to be concerned.
Where's my chippy? There's my chippy.

For what it is worth, I love my dog more than most people, and I had nothing to do with her conception. Sure, I want my "own" kid, but love is universal and am open to adoption.

Frown: Falsetto. So sick and tired of it.

Smile: I have plenty of Sinatra records to listen to.

Everyone operates differently when it comes to emotional priorities I suppose.

For me children aren't even a consideration and even if they were being a parent and raising a child has nothing to do with genetics in my opinion. The very concept of leaving someone you love because they can't have a kid is pretty alien to me.

It's something I can understand from a logical standpoint but cannot relate to on an emotional level.

Smile: I still get a kick whenever an article I helped write gets posted to the front page. You'd think that after four or five years, I'd be over it.

Frown: Think I'm going to bail on Star Fox Command the way I did on Phantom Hourglass the other day. That's two in a row where I had fun for a little bit and then said "this is becoming a chore".
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Phantom Hourglass had a lot of design flaws, especially in regards to the Temple. Spirit Tracks fixed a lot of those, but I still can't bring myself to continue past the Pacman sequence.

I say this with no disrespect, but out of the millions of men living and dead only a few should ever don a fedora. Sinatra is one of those few men. Much like bow ties, an accessory shouldn't beg for attention, you should already have said attention. Otherwise you are "that guy".

Smile: True Blood aka Vamp Porn Party tonight. Making strawberry margaritas and deep fried strawberries with a hint of cream cheese and mint. Can't wait for the brews and chews.

Smile: The lead singer who sings "Louie Louie" looks a lot like my avatar, aka Johnny.

Smile: My wife and I danced to "Take My Breath Away", which was a bag full of fun. I try to dance with her to some silly song at least once a day, and this didn't disappoint.

Seriously dudes and dudettes. It takes fives minutes or less to dance to a song and make your mate smile for weeks.

Think not? Put this on and try not to dance.

Sam the Sham?!?

You gotta be a pretty impressive mumbler to have the CIA look into your lyrics to make sure they're not terrorist messages.

Edit: Damn, I was wrong, Sam the Sham and the Pharoahs is only Wooly Bully, Loue Louie was The Kingsmen. Been a while since I've heard that one.

Second edit: Further investigation shows I was actually half-right. First big version of Louie Louie was by Richard Berry, with his backing band The Pharoahs. And I of course associate The Pharoahs with Sam the Sham, because how awesome of a name is Sam the Sham?

I swear I'm awake.

Personally, I would have trouble bonding well with a child that wasn't mine. Just a personal thing, I commend anyone who can do it though, like my Dad.

 Its pretty stressful getting all my stuff together to move. I've never done it before, so its really throwing me off.
