I could do it myself with but I'm short the tools I need to do it: vice, power drill, and soldering iron.
If you've got $12 you can make it happen:

I'm not even sure what that thing is but it's nowhere near rusty enough for my home surgery standards.

When my dad got his done when I was maybe 7 or 8 I thought it was a great idea. And hey if I do end up changing my mind down the line a reversal is only about $3000 out of pocket and if I can't afford that I don't think should be trying to have a kid in the first place!
Don't do it, it might not be reversable. Just wear a rubber or go another route. One day as you get older, you might want kids after you find the right gal. Imagine the anguish if the right girl you meet wants a family and the surgery would not work.

Very personal choice there. I would caution to give it some serious thought before going forward...but I think advising one way or another is a bad idea. Some people know they don't want kids, nothing wrong with that...it is a valid life choice. I wouldn't have it done as a spur of the moment type thing though. Just my opinion, it's your life.

Eh it's not really a spur of the moment at all. I've pretty much known that, due to my shitty childhood, I never wanted to have kids since I was quite young. It's more of a "hey I can do something so I don't end up in a bad situation so I might as well do it" kind of thing.

If it isn't reversible? Ehhhhh what ever. I mean is someone I'm with going to leave me because I can't have kids? If that's the case, why the hell would I want to be with that person anyway? It sounds kind of shitty but I'm sure I'd be better off without that person in my life then.

Just to add some levity or a reason I shouldn't have kids, you pick.
Have you ever been driving along, see a blind person walking on the sidewalk and want to slam on your brakes, start honking, and then start yelling "HEY GET OUT OFF THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD." Just to see what they would do? Not that I have done this, or ever would mind you, just something I was thinking about when I was stuck at a light earlier.

A woman wanting to have a child with her husband is very important to many. I wouldnt necessarily say it was shitty of them to seek out a partner that meets their needs in that regard.

No it's pretty shitty if someone would leave you after finding out a vasectomy reversal didn't work. I know having kids is important to a lot of women but not in the age range of girls I've been dating, or even see myself dating in the next few years.

And there's always adoption or a sperm donor too if you (or future partner) wanted a kid later and it was irreversible. People put too much concern in their child being of the same blood. This is your choice and a fine choice.
