What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

They always play some blurb like this right before the movie and they'll warn people once and boot the second. So this waste of skin's excuse means jack crap.

Passive aggressive much? (regarding the theater, not the caller)

A simple "Strict Rule: No Phones, No Talking, Or You Will Be Asked to Leave" would suffice.

They'll warn you once and boot you the second offense. The caller is a moron that first says they didn't know you couldn't text, then says they were using the phone to find their seat. She can't keep her story straight. Then she tries to equate letting people lighting up their phones in the middle of movies as being "polite". If she'd been to Alamo before, she should know they don't want people's phones to be on. If she hadn't, she would have gotten a warning before being removed. They also get actors and directors to make other little clips about being quiet and keeping phones off. The caller was inconsiderate and maybe she learned a $15 lesson after she calmed down. They made a funny clip that would stick in people's minds about it.

You posted earlier about asking people to cut off the phone and stop talking or ping a manager, but now you're aghast that something was done about a troublemaker? They didn't post a name, picture or phone number. Other than her friends that might recognize her voice, nobody would know who she is unless she'd already told them the story.

I don't understand man. :?

I don't understand her behavior, as obviously she was rude and changed her story from texting to finding a seat. So sure, screw her.

But there's no need to "make an example" of someone because they're clueless. It is excessive to play that before a film. I don't see any humor to it at all, and frankly, to me it is a dick move and a waste of time.

Now if for five seconds a reel of Kevin Smith saying "I hope you enjoy my new movie *****. Laugh all you want, but please no talking or mobile phones or you'll be kicked out for being a prick", that I could understand.

Maybe the chain has a different atmosphere, but "You've been warned" is something that doesn't float my boat. Tell me the rules, but don't warn me like I'm a child.

It speaks to their patrons, as that is the atmosphere that those who go there expect. Most laugh when that comes on. They do the Kevin Smith type of thing too.

The problem is most people are children. And I'm all for public shaming.

Communist.

As a libertarian, I only support private shaming.

MAGNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

What is it with people who can't grasp the concept that "free country" doesn't mean you can wander into privately owned establishments and break all of their rules? What do they think the rules are for if there's no consequences to breaking them?

Some people also forget that being free doesn't mean free to be a jackass without annoying others who aren't going to put up with that crap.
