What was the last movie you've seen?

Some of the most fun in theaters I've had was with a crowd that talked but also got into the movie. When I saw The Raid 2 at the Atlanta Film Festival, the crowd cheered, screamed, and laughed, and it was a blast. One of the most fun crowds I have ever seen a movie with. It helped that the movie was awesome though.

I could never watch THE ROOM at the Alamo Drafthouse.

Kids kicking a seat is one thing, kids simply having fun is another.

I've been to theaters that serve food, and although it's a great concept and a money maker, I don't want to smell food while watching a movie unless I'm in the friendly confines of my own home. It is great to knock out "Dinner and a Movie" in one sitting, but it's too distracting for my taste.

Nah its awesome. It is spaced out enough that I dont smell anyone elses food but my own. People talking, people getting up and walking past you etc is much more distracting to me. But I almost always get a little, pizza which is easy enough to drink.

They do have some 'fun' movie nights like quote or sing a longs and they give out little themed party favor type stuff. They also show older movies at times. Last year I went with Hobie and some others to see Road Warrior.

I prefer this type of theater so much now that I pretty much refuse to go to a regular theater anymore. People are just obnoxious in them.

Space Pirate Captain Harlock





Watched this on Netflix last night. Pretty awesome CGI movie the visuals are great and the story is pretty good albeit a little confusing towards the end. Plenty of space ship battles, interesting characters, and big budget CGI(estimated 30 mil in production ). Also really liked the music .

Basically the movie takes place "In the distant future or maybe in the distant past...". The human race has basically used up all the resources of the galaxy and is entering a decline. There is a general desire to return to Earth, but their isn't enough room to accommodate the return of all the colonies. So of course a war known as the homecoming war breaks out as colonies fight to determine who should be permitted to return to our home planet. During the course of the war a group called the Gaia Coalition is formed which basically takes over the earth declaring it a sanctuary and closing it off to the rest of the galaxy.

Skip 100 years into the future a young man named Logan seeks to join the ship Arcadia a legendary ghost ship captained by Captain Spurlock an immortal space pirate who was exiled over 100 years ago. During his journey Logan will discover the history surrounding the exile of Captain Hurlock, and the dark secrets of the Gaia Coalition.

The concept never really appealed to me. I'm not the kind of person who likes to eat while watching movies. It divides my attention too much and I invariably miss something.

But I've also never been to a theater like this so maybe I'd change my tune if I experienced it for myself.

Unless I'm really looking forward to a movie (as was the case with Guardians of the Galaxy) I usually wait around two weeks so I rarely have to deal with crowded theaters anyway.

I may a "movie snob" but I'm a people person. If someone is checking their phone, a lot, I'll politely ask them to turn it off. And by no means am I saying you have a stick up your ass no am I comparing you to these people, but there are a ton of adults who ruin a movie experience than kids. The "No-Shut Uppers".

We've all seen them. Arms crossed, scowling, thinking the price of admission means they own the theater for their movie. They whine and complain the entire movie about "some kid" but never take any action. People get focused on this kind of stuff, which is dumb. Focus on the movie, not the people in the theater.

It's like the obnoxious person in a line at a theme park who won't shut up. Introduce yourself and you might make a friend and shut him/her up in the process.

Yeah, I noticed this when I was dragged to Maleficent. I mean, it's a shit film so I don't blame them that much but it's a bit rude all the same.

I don't usually mind food in a cinema but one woman at our 12 Years a Slave showing had a full nacho platter which both stank and was somewhat inappropriate. Chiwetel Ejiofor's whippings were punctuated by the loud crunches of chips entering her mouth. Classy bird.

Been a while since I've seen them play this particular one before a movie, but perhaps because I haven't seen an R movie there in a while, but relevant (cursing). They always play some blurb like this right before the movie and they'll warn people once and boot the second. So this waste of skin's excuse means jack crap.
