The damn balloons and spinning stuff in Carnival Night Zone get in my way. 0/10

I think the music for 1-2 are about equal for me, I think S&K wins hands down (same composer or group of people as Shinobi 3 I think?), but CD is on another level. I love both the Japanese/EU and US soundtracks.

No way can you say Sonic 2 looks better than CD though... CD was 32bit I think and the backgrounds were insanely detailed with all the scaling layers or whatnot. That game is gorgeous!

Honestly I'm always mixing up the "classic" Sonic games (1, 2, 3, Knuckles, CD) as I find them to all be so similar. Show me a bunch of screenshots and I couldn't tell you which games they came from. That said, I think I recall liking 2 the best, though I hate the final few levels (Sonic games should never have giant holes... or water for that matter).

The NGPC game is pretty cool, but that's a different thing altogether.

Sonic Colors keeps what made the classic 2D Sonic games so fun, and then adds only the parts that worked from the 3D sequels. You've got blistering speed through wild environments combined with clever platforming parkour moves and special powers. Outstanding graphics bring Colors' vibrant worlds to life, bolstered by a spunky OST and keen voice acting. Even the plot is above average for a Sonic game, never missing a chance to interject humor whenever possible. Sonic Colors is absolutely a brilliant and wonderful experience that is simply a joy to play.

Stop making me want to play so many games! I barely started Guacamelee and now I'm wanting some Colors. Haven't even come close to Etrian yet.

Or play worse games or something so I'm less tempted :P

Well you reminded me I need to get back to Untold and finish that up. Thinking of making that my official "Saturday night" game until it's done. Cool game, but it does get to be tedious as hell at times.

Sonic 3 stages are way too long for my liking. A lot of my deaths were from the timer expiring.

The only stage I dislike in S3&K is Carnival Night. That's the one level I can see somebody easily running out the timer.

If you're having issues on the rest you're all slow pokes. Ya know Sonic is supposed to go fast yeah?

Not too fast though.

That's the fun in it.

I like all the early Sonic games, even 3D Blast (the Saturn version anyway). Sonic 2 is probably my least favorite though. Too much hold right-win game.

That's the problem, Sonic is supposed to be fast and S3 & K isn't. I can beat Sonic 2 levels in the blink of an eye.

I remember Carnival Night zone, I think I got stuck trying to get this floating platform to levitate.

I always found the fun in Sonic games to be precision platforming combined with the ability to go really fast.

It's what's missing from the modern titles. They focus so much on going fast they forget that a lot of the fun was in exploration and precision gameplay. Going fast alone isn't that much fun to me.

Metropolis zone felt like a Sonic 1 stage that was put in Sonic 2.
