Me and my Girlfriend got there and the display was twice the size I thought it would be so I passed on it for $200. He said that he was going to put it in his flea market booth instead for $300 and says that he could make a lot more because gamers/collectors are stupid. He sells $100 SNES and PS2s in his booth :x . I have a picture of it somewhere, never thought I'd be digging through the guy's house.

Anyway, all he had there was a box of Atari crap that he wouldn't sell until "he checked how much it goes for". The only thing worth buying was I found a CIB Cadillacs and Dinosaurs for Sega CD and my Girlfriend found a Ocarina of Time/Master Quest disc only. He asked for 10 bucks so that's what I paid. I thought his place was going to be a goldmine, but it was a waste of $5 in gas.
Like an actual barn that used to house livestock or are you figuratively talking about a man cave in a house?

I'm kinda stunned. I nabbed a complete, unopened Pokemon Soul Silver at a garage sale today for $2. That wasn't my offer either, it's what the lady was asking for it. Alriiiight!

I also got a pink GBA in really nice condition along with Pokemon Leaf Green at another sale for $8. :D

The lady who sold me the Soul Silver mentioned that she had bins full of old games from her 3 sons that she was looking to sell at a later date; Nintendo and Sega both came up. I, of course, quickly gave her my number and she said she'd call for me to come look. I'll update if anything comes of this, though I've learned not to hold my breath with these things. I have yet to be called back by anyone from a yard sale to this day.

I picked up new copies of Paper Mario: Sticker Star and Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask for $9.99 each from Gamestop. They have them on sale as part of their summer sale so if you were wanting to buy either at some point now is a good time to jump on them.

It has been very dry around here lately, what with my local retro game store moving and Gamestop closing. But I did manage to find a couple things the last couple weeks.

Image

Flea Market:
Crash Wrath of Cortex
Blood Omen 2

Thrift Store:
Double Dragon w/case
Ducktales w/case
Road Runners Death Valley Rally
PS2 Memory card
Spider Man
Wing Commander IV
Alone in the Dark 2
Spiderman Xmen

= $14

Nothing truely spectacular, but I'm always happy when I find unscratched, minty-disked Playstation and Gamecube games for cheap. I'm bummed that Wing Commander is sans-manual, but it and the other disk games were only $0.50 each, so I'll learn to live.

Went to my favorite thrift store and saw a stack of black carts behind the counter. Anytime that happens they almost always end up being sports titles or Sonic, but that wasn't the case this week.

Image

Dracula
Time Soldiers
Out Run
Rastan

= $1.50 each

The last time I found Master System games in the wild was when I got that score a couple of years ago, so I was more than pleasantly surprised to find these. Still haven't seen a system yet, but maybe one day...

Oh, and someone decided to punt their entire Command and Conquer collection:

Image

Command and Conquer: The First Decade
C&C Red Alert
C&C Tiberian Sun
Free Style Street Soccer

= $1.50 total

The First Decade also has disks for Renegade, the other half of Tiberian Sun and Tiberian Sun Firestorm in there. I guess the previous owners just decided to consolidate most of what they owned into one box. It's probably redundant to buy those extra two copies, but I figured, if nothing else, I'll have a couple of nice spare double/quad cases in case I need them.

Excellent scores. I've been playing Rastan on the Master System recently actually. It's a lot of fun.

so i've gotten most of the games i think i'm going to be able to afford for a while, so no need to "hide" the post anymore. but i picked up some TG16 games locally. paid pretty much market value for them but i was happy to purchase them in store and have them in hand immediately rather than tracking them down online.

i got:

Ninja Spirit
Pac-Land
Soldier Blade
Galaga '90
Turrican
Cyber-Core
Fantasy Zone
Alien Crush

they're all complete in cases w/ manuals, card sleeves and clips where applicable (the only exception to this being Soldier Blade which didn't come in a jewel case to begin with)

spent about $160 and traded in some DVDs and CDs to the store for another $150 in store credit. there are more there, but i just don't have the money at the moment.

so everyone check out my BST thread and eBay links, please 8)

Huh, I got that same deal for sticker star. I saw that and was like "is this a mistake?" then asked and he said it just changed prices or something like that....I'll have to look for the professor layton though

So I got a Craigslist system lot for $40:

I was wary and for good cause as some of it was downright broken:

SNES: Works
N64: Works
Gameboy Color: Works
Saturn: Broken
PSP 3001: Broken

Now, the PSP's screen was busted. It was initially missing the battery covery and battery, but I tested it out using my PSP 2000 battery and saw the damage then. I looked at Youtube for ways of replacing the LCD (it's quite easy, even for me). I ordered a new panel on ebay for $16 shipped.

The Sega Saturn would boot up to the system menu, but wouldn't read the discs. Reseated the ribbon cable, cleaned the inside best I could (it was full of dust and maybe bug poop too) and then read about the laser potentiometer needing adjustments. It's a small phillips head yellow screen that's on the inside of the laser assembly. After some tweaking of that, I finally got it to read and load of some games!

----

I was about to throw the Saturn out (and the PSP), but this made for some interesting turn of events. The PSP will be like a project now (I only have a red GoW PSP 2000) as I have a PSP 3001 model finally. I plan on selling the Gameboy Color and N64/SNES systems to make up the differences in price.

----

And lastly, I got my package yesterday from a Youtube contest I won. A Turbo Grafx 16 system with Legendary Axe. I already own both so most likely will be available for sale/trade if anyone is interested.
