Surprisingly the marketplace was bigger than too many games in Philly. It was also only 7 bucks to get in. It cost me and my wife 50 total to get in at too many games. Basically the cost of a new game. The vendors seemed to want to deal with you more at CCAG also. I got turned down more often than not trying to deal with the vendors at too many games. I was told priced as marked, and nothing else there multiple times. I only found one asshole vendor like that at CCAG.

This started as a small show and has grown a lot. I was very impressed with it. They did not have youtube people or panels. I can care less about hearing some youtube person go on about how great they are and how great their collection is or how vast their knowledge is. Watching people stroke their ego is not a good time for me!

I stopped into a retro game store today and it had the absolute WORST customer service. The only employee was totally disinterested in his job and left me and another customer waiting for about 10 minutes while he sat there trying to call his boss in the other room but kept getting his voicemail, I guess he told him not to disturb him; what kind of crap is that?

Thing is, he was going through new trades and there was a stack of NES games full of gold. The first few games that I picked up were Snow Bros, DuckTales 2, Adventure Island 3, Dragon Warrior IV as some highlights of the games in this wall of cartridges. I could barely contain myself and couldn't think of a way to ask how much they were as they weren't priced yet; they price everything 20%+ over Ebay, $8 for SMB, $35 for Mario 64 etc. So I ask about Bubble Bobble and he says he has to check the price and pulls out a large binder full of prices and skims through each page and then checks the end label if it's Part 2. He has to call his boss and he doesn't answer after several tries so he goes into the back and literally never comes back out so I had to leave. I'm sure Snow Bros will be $300 tomorrow as if anyone is going to shop there.

Don't visit Game Castle in Erlanger, KY. :?

I visited my mother's house while I'm up here for the week and found a tub full of sub-par video game finds that I had last year and couldn't ship down to where I moved to. It had a Playstation, SNES, accessories, a stack of terrible PS2 games, sports NES and genesis games. I also found my old PSP 3000 so it was worth coming over for that.

To keep it short, picked all this up today for about half the VGPC value. Yay me. As you were.
