So, picked up Kart, of course, and ended up going with the NSMBU bundle. For a third game, I grabbed a used copy of Black Flag, just to push the system in a more modern way.

Well... I'm not sure I'll keep Black Flag. Its used, so I have a few days to decide. Wondering what other suggestions you guys might have? Looking at ZombieU, Deus Ex, something to just look nice in a more modern way, since I like to push a console in every direction when first getting it. If all else fails, I'll just grab MonHun and keep playing that.

Loving this thing so far. Mario Kart is wonderful.
Yay! Welcome to the fold brother! I wouldn't suggest getting Deus Ex, since you can grab it as part of the humble bundle this week and the price isn't that low for the Wii U. ZombiU is a very entertaining game for me personally, but the graphics are not the most gorgeous. For me, visually, I found Pikmin 3 to be jaw dropping, as it does everything right. (you can get pikmin 3 for free when you register mario kart..but hurry I think the offer ends soon!)

If you had to pick, I would say go with Monster Hunter or ZombiU

Thanks meat! Yeah, Pikmin 3 is going to be the game I go for with my Kart freebie, so that one is off the list. Just have to wait for my internet to work, but I think the offer stands until July 31st.

Good to know on Deus Ex, I'll hold off on that one. Zombie U looks fun enough to pick up, but with Kart and NSMBU, I think we have multiplayer set. Really looking for a single player game that I can sit with for a while. After dropping all that cash, I don't want it to sit until I have a co-pilot.

So maybe, instead of focusing on graphics, just a good single player game would work?

ZombiU can do that for you. The multi-player is fun, but there is a robust single player storyline. Add to it the arcade-y feel of trying to finish the game with the least amount of deaths is encouraging. Also there are multiple endings and a fun multi-player.

If you want a hardcore single player experience, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and Wonderful 101 are where it's at. Wonderful 101 is a great beat em up along the style of bayonetta and devil may cry and has a fun multiplayer mode tossed in as well if you so desire. The game is VERY challenging and there are tons of unlockables and collectibles.

Donkey Kong Country on the other hand is pure Donkey Kong Country. It is challenging, but not impossible and really is meant for single player. It is vastly more difficult with a second player.

Also..silly me, I completely forgot about Lego City Undercover as that game is just plain awesome and fun. Single player GTA-esque lego game that has lots of playability. you can sink some time in collecting stuff and exploring and really is one of the best, if not THE BEST Lego game out there.

3D World and Tropical Freeze are very high on my want list. In fact, they are two main reasons I wanted the system.

... but, it feels a little redundant to have NSMBU, 3D World, AND Tropical Freeze as my 3 games (+ Kart). With that many platformers, I'm sure at least one will get neglected, especially with how much content they pack into these platformers now.

I feel you guys though, can't wait to dive into both of those.

Deus Ex is $17 on amazon. I have the Wii U version and the game pad is utilized well.

I was so pumped to see Blaster Master announced. But then I didn't see it and... oh. 3DS. Okay.
