Games Beaten 2014
January-June
Spider - iOS
Metal Torrent - NDS
Injustice: Gods Among Us - PC
Thief Gold - PC
Shovel Knight - 3DS *new*

Total: 55

Games Beaten: 2013 2012 2011 2010

It is a testament to both how great this game is and how much I sucked at it (at least on some stages) that I played through eight hours to reach the end credits. At least the boss fights - including the ones in the final tower - were a relative breeze compared to some of the platforming sections.

In any case, it is certainly the best retro throwback of the year, but not something that I'd consider a good candidate for THE game of the year...sorry.

1- Metroid Confrontation
2- Red Dead Redemption (PS3)
3- Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare (PS3)
4- Bayonetta (PS3)
5- Doom 1 (Ps3) (BFG Edition)
6- The Last of Us (Ps3)
7- Condemned 2: Bloodshot (PS3)
8- Resident Evil: Revelations (Ps3)
9- King of Dragons (PSP)
10- Mercs (PSP)
11- Silent Hill: Downpour (PS3)
12- Dead Space (PS3)
13- Thief Gold (PC)
14- Crysis 3 (PS3)
15- Silent Hill Homecoming (Ps3)
16- Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion (3DS)
17- Pokemon Y (3DS)
18- Dead or Alive: Dimensions (3DS)
19- Mario & Luigi: Bower's inside story (DS)
20- Siren: New Translation (PS3)
21- Super Princess Peach (Ds)
22- Warhammer 40.000: Space Marine (Ps3)

23- X-men Origins: Wolverine (PS3)

I consider myself a wolverine fan, its my favorite x-men since i was like 7, but even with that this game is not as great as i heard it was. Don't get me wrong the game is good and is cool to kill things as wolverine but the enemies are very lame, the combos lack variety and towards the end has the worst escenario in the whole game... chase Gambit.... you fight 3 times (if i counted right) and that's no fun at all.

Still nice game for a play but i almost got all the thing to unlock on my first playtrough and get can power up Logan almost to the 100% at the middle of the game, or at least power up the good attacks.

Assassin's Creed IV WiiU
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon PC
Splinter Cell: Blacklist WiiU
The Wolf Among Us: Episode 1 PC
The Wolf Among Us: Episode 2 PC
Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut WiiU
Jazzpunk PC
Pikmin 3 WiiU
Call of Duty: Ghosts WiiU
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze WiiU
Tomb Raider (2013) PC
The Wolf Among Us: Episode 3 PC
Danganronpa Vita
Far Cry 2 360
The Witcher 2 360
Catherine 360

Gears of War 360

Gears of War was an excellent game in 2006 but it is not aging so well. The control feels decidedly clunky and the shooting is a bit stale and repetitive. That all said, the premise is good and it doesn't really overstay it's welcome at all. I'm interested in checking out the second and third games, just to see how it evolved over time.
Older. Not wiser.

I've not played a ton of 2014 stuff, but I thought both Titanfall, D3: Reaper of Souls, and the Last of Us DLC were better. I think based on the alpha and beta alone Destiny is a better game too. I think there's some stuff coming out that looks pretty ace as well. All of these are hard to compare directly obvioulsy, but I enjoyed each of them more.

It may end up being my "indie" game of the year, but even still I think it will have some tough competition when all is said and done (and, in fact, Crimzon Clover World Ignition may already edge it out if we can count that as a 2014 game).

This is pretty obvious given that you have an expansion pack and some DLC in running for Game of the Year.

I haven't played a single 2014 game myself. I'll get to them in 2020.

I feel like there hasn't been a whole lot that interests me, but actually when I list it out I've played a fair bit of 2014 releases:

I've played through...

Infamous Second Son
Mario Kart 8
Titanfall
Shovel Knight
Crimzon Clover World Ignition
Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls
Last of Us Left Behind
Bioshock Infinite Burial at Sea Episode 2

I've messed around with...
Destiny Alpha/Beta
Goat Simulator
Banner Saga
Ultra SF4
Child of Light
Neo XYX
TxK
Strider
Wolfenstein New Order (just started)

Same here! But I knew that this year would be more back loaded (Hotline Miami 2 is my most anticipated).

I think as far as new 2014 games I've played:

Wolfenstein TNO (which is my GOTY right now, albeit I'm sure it's only temporary)
Transistor
Strider
Octodad
Outlast
