Allow me to add something, its sort of an oddball choice but they are in the way related to these bands, no its not from Norway, not Sweden, UK? not even close, I talking about Japan's finest, Sigh. They have always been my favorite, you maybe saying "how are they in anyway related?", simple, they where signed by the late Euronymous of Mayhem's label "Death-Like Silence Productions"

Honestly, I perfer there later material, like stuff from Scenario IV, Imaginary Sonicscape, and there recent album...Hangman's Hymn. Mainly because they found there own sound, and they are more experimental.

Sigh are indeed absolutely incredible - Im not too into their newer stuff, but their early stuff was totally 'trve' (and indeed they were on Euronymous' label) - basically I can't handle too much 'clear vocals' anymore :p, I will however concede that their newer stuff is very good instrumentally/musically

I suppose as an Irishman I should have but some Primordial in my list too :p

I'm sorry, once you throw a swing and then back up and have your 20 friends jump on the ONE guy... that's not a fight and you are a PUSSY! Especially if you started it. That's exactly what happened to my buddy. My buddy was just dancing, NOT IN THE PIT, and the pit decided to move over to his area. He moved, they follow, he moved, they follow, kid knocks him over, he says something like "excuse me, but I'm trying to fucking dance, stop following me"

I have to say that sorta sh1t annoys me, as an older man now (lol) I would spend most of my time exactly where your friend was - at the edge of the 'circle' and I would indeed often find myself protecting say some girl who the circle kept on pushing into etc. - I have absolutely no problem with the pit at all, but they shouldnt try to attack people for not being in it. So I would often end up looking incredibly stupid as I would have to stand in a ridiculously over the top Shotokan-style rigid low walking stance in order to not get knocked over lol, occasionally flailing my elbows as the wave of sweat and hair approached. I have to say though I have never seen such 'jock-O-rama' as behaviour as your friend experienced at any concert I've been to before, with most people being extremely polite and helpful if someone falls over etc., I have to say one of the most intense pits I ever saw was actually at a Reverend Horton Heat concert eheh, not at a Trash, BM or DM gig. When 'Psychobilly Freakout' and 'Galaxy 500' came on the place just went mental!...

I fucking hate the fucking little hardcore kids. Those fucking 16 year old noobs that think it's fucking cool to mosh through an entire set. Even when the fucking band isn't playing.

I just punch them in the face if they get 'all up in my ish' now. I have little time to suffer fools let alone these fucking kids who think they are hard by showing a bit of attitude. I relish taking them down a peg or two.

in my days it were DRI, Suicidal Tendencies, Discharge, Bad Brains etc., none of that introspective wimp music (having said that I'm a Manics fan so I cant really talk haha)

I don't tend to push my sense of music on people, but I hate how much others like to push theirs on me. For example: I take a PE class at my highschool that incorperates weight training, and they have this boom box there that has the same CD in it week after week. On it, there are two good rock songs, and about a dozen generic (stuff on the CD is terrible compared to a lot of the stuff on the radio) rap songs.

Every single time, the CD starts with "Welcome to the Jungle" and this stupid blond girl who talks through the entire class and doesn't stop to listen to the music, she walks over, skips that song, then skips "Crazy Train" and goes streight to the rap. Don't even think about trying to change it back, because the blond girl goes and hangs out with the talkative group who just sits in front of the CD player all day and does nothing. Of course, like, four of these girls are the real fat, loud, and obnoxous black girls who have opinions that their just waiting to scream in the face of the unsuspecting nerdy white kid. I mean good lord, their talking ALL THE TIME, would it kill them to let the rest of the class hear something other than trash?

I've got a wide selection of music I can listen to, but unfortunately, Jazz, Rap, Death Metal, and whatever you'd call Green Day does not bode well with me.

Also, you guys who tried to argue with Mozgus, you have the wrong idea. Starting an arguement is what he expected when he created the thread, and talking to him is like talking to a brick wall. If you feel like he's wrong, just don't acknowledge he's there, and post about something else. Otherwise you just encourage him.

i try to be pretty democratic about music tastes, understanding that lots of different people like lots of different things, but honestly, if you like any type of heavy music at all, and can't recognize reign in blood as a seriously essential thrash record, you are either horribly misguided or you are partially deaf in a way that distorts all sound into the sound of two horses fucking each other.

I've only listened to Raining Blood from that particular album, and to be blunt, that song isn't that great. I like Vader's cover, though.
I've listened to their early material (the material that everyone says is 'the good stuff') and I found most of it to be very boring, at least compared to early Anthrax and Metallica.
I'm always willing to change my opinions about bands, if there's an album that someone here thinks that is worth hearing I'll give it a try.

Those are two of the greatest Hard Rock songs to ever grace the human ear! If I were you, I'd take a hard wooden ruler and smack the shit out of her hand every time she tries to skip those two songs.
