I picked up a used Hori V3 fight stick this morning for $19. (It is a PS3 fight stick.) Assuming it works (I have not been able to test it yet), did I get a good deal? It looks like these retail for about $60.

If you're looking for a beater stick and not expecting a whole lot out of it, then yeah. Hori parts, PCB mounted buttons, hard to mod if that's your intention. But you could do worse.

Cool. I will not be looking to mod it. I am just looking for something - other than a DualShock 3 - to use when I play arcade games, fighting games, and shmups on my PS3.

I picked up the 360 version (VX) in March for about the same price, mostly for shmups on 360 and pc, and it worked out well for that. Tbh, I don't know enough about joysticks to tell what the difference between good, very good and great is, though. I use a HRAP EX currently, and can't feel the improvement besides the additional buttons, and a little softer clicking on the joystick

My last joystick was the NES Advantage, and I expect this to be a huge step up from that.

But it didn't look any good so you put it back on top of a copy of Radiant silvergun.
It was laying in a pile of crappy third-party controllers so I almost passed on it until I saw the word Hori and went nuts. :o

Xbox Dreamfall - $5.00 BookOff :D
I read great reviews on the original PC game, but never got around to picking it up. Nice to get the sequel to finally try out and at a great price!

Xbox Star Wars Clone Wars / Tetris Worlds Double Pak - $5.00 BookOff
Played various incarnations of Tetris sooo many times, but a good price for the twin set.

PS2 Guitar Hero 80s - $3.00 BookOff
Okay yet another Guitar Hero, but I do like 80s music. Flock Of Seagulls is here and a nice bonus, the foldout poster with reverse side guide is included! I loooove BookOff for the CIB games!

PS2 Malice - $5.00 BookOff
I discovered this game playing the demo on one of the Xbox magazine discs I boughtb a while back. Okay 3d platformer with forgiving jumps, I wish the footage between levels can be bypassed.

PS2 Outrun 2006 - $5.00 Swap Meet
Been wanting this game since seeing metal Jesus's video so long ago. Even sweeter, this was shrink wrapped new! A vendor at the swap meet had a box of new games, mostly sports. A few jewels in the box that I already owned, found this buried in there. A nice drive, mix in the long runs of Need For Speed without the police cars. Interesting use of various goals such as passing or knocking other cars and keeping a giant beach ball (what?) in play. :D

PS2 Sonic Heroes - $5.00 BookOff
I thought this would be just a reissue of the Dreamcast version onto the PS2. Turns out to be new levels.

PS2 Sonic Collection Plus - $5.00 BookOff
A collection of Genesis games and Game Gear. The reviews state the Gamecube version is better with additional cut scenes and better frame rate. I really did not see any problem with the frame rate; Genesis versions sound great though the Game Gear has fuzzy sound. Part of the negativity on the review was a reduced screen size. However, R3 on the stick zooms the image to fill the screen with just narrow "widescreen" black bars on top and bottom. and it does have a Plus over the Gamecube for some reason. Maybe additional unlocks?

PS1 NTSCJ Chocobo Dungeon - $20.00 BookOff
YES! This is volume one of the Final Fantasy bird exclusive to Japan for the PS1. RANDOM GENERATED DUNGEONS! I bought NTSCJ Chocobo 2 not knowing only the first version was the exclusive. Maybe I'll pick up the Wii U.S. version as well, not sure if there is a PS2 version.

Retro Gamer eMag Load 3 and Games TM eMag Vol 1
$15.05 for both shipped Imagine Publishing

A collection of the magazines scanned to PDF. Nice resolution size for many days of reading all the pages and pages of articles.

Guinness World Records Games Edition 2011 - 2.00 BookOff
The records are not that much of interest to me, but a nice round of game reviews and spot trivia makes this series worth a read when sold so cheaply. I have 2008 and one or to other years somewhere in this house.

DVD Stalag 17 - $8.94 new shipped Amazon
DVD Treasure Sierra Madre - $5.00 BookOff

Two very very good classics. Treasure Sierra Madre is really a sweet collection. It can also be watched as in seen back in the day in the theaters which includes News Reels and a Cartoon. Two classic Bugs Bunnys featuring caricatures of actors of the day, look for Humphrey Bogart appearing. Stalag 17 preceeded Hogans Heroes and is sooo much better. Both movies deal with suspicion of the other guy with plot twists, really great stories and acting.

BluRay/DVD Life Of Pi - $4.99 Best Buy
BluRay/DVD Prometheus - $4.99 Best Buy

Both combo paks a great price. Life Of Pi is an outstanding movie and a visual feast for the eyes. Prometheus though crappy has nice extras and is part of the Alien story. I bought these mainly for the included DVD as well as all the extra footage on the BluRay discs. Maybe might eventually add a BluRay player to the wall unit.

I still hate the idea that studios include an Ultaviolet and Digital copy of the movie on a DVD and no extra footage. Really?! This is dumb since there are so many options to capture the video anyways for portable devices. :?
