My only experience with Dallas was when I drove through it from San Antonio to MO... and it was the only time during my drive that I got lost. Everything else was smooth sailing.

I once drove through Dallas on a Texas trip and I will be going back for NIN in August. Is it really that bad of a place to get around? When I passed it on the highway it just seemed like a regular big city.

It is just like a regular big city... one that has a maze for a road system, which you must drive though at 60mph without missing your offramps lest you be forced to drive the wrong way for miles before you can correct your mistake.

Yeah, Dallas has some confusing roadways. I'm horrible in big cities, unless its like Lubbock, set up into a grid, or San Angelo, where there's a lot of roads and not many places to go.

Yeah, but neither of those are big cities.

:x My daughter dumped an entire glass of green tea directly on my laptop while jumping off her chair after I told her not to.

Big compared to what I'm used to. Its like when people tell me San Antonio or Austin are small. That's just too many damn people in one place.

I know what you mean. I'm a rural guy and I was living in Lake Jackson, TX (not a big city but lots of traffic thanks to Dow Chemical and it's a growing yuppie town) for a while and people from Houston acted like it was the middle of nowhere meanwhile I felt incredibly congested. And Houston, forget it. Every time I had to go there I wanted to scream.

I get pretty terrible anxiety in too-crowded places.
