Very cool, your Dad probably played some of those games when they first came out. Space Invaders is pretty good with unique levels. Slot Racers a great two player game, Oh and get Indy 500 and try that tag game against your Dad.emwearz wrote:I have played most of them before, love Beserk. With the the 2600, I prefer not to put any money into it as even the games I like most, tend to get played for 15 minutes once in a blue moon.
That being said my Dad came over and we played Dodge Em and had a few beers, he gets oddly competitive with arcade games.

My old man is still a gamer, he just finished Wolfenstein: The New Order, he tends to only play Point and Click Adventures, FPS, Pinball and schmups. Never got into consoles, but he will play schmups with me using an arcade stick.CRTGAMER wrote:Very cool, your Dad probably played some of those games when they first came out. There is a wicked old photo of me somewhere with me on my dads lap while "we" are playing Kings Quest IV.

My Dad has worked in computers since he was 20 (now 53).
When he was at Uni doing a degree in accounting he got a part time job at a computer component store, dropped out of his degree when offered a job in IT and has been in the industry ever since.
Always had PC's growing up, so always into gaming. Was good growing up and my dad would be the one bringing home new Adventure games from his work buddies.

Sounds like my friend's much older brother. That was how I got into Space Quest and lots of other DOS games.emwearz wrote:My Dad has worked in computers since he was 20 (now 53).

Oh boy...went to the flea market and found some stuff...

$10 - The guy seemed to just want to get out of there. I went up and spotted the spyro's and he asked me how much I wanted for them, out of just thinking of a random number said "how about $10 for both?". He said sure, what about anything else. kept saying no, but he finally just said, "You know what I'm done for the day and getting out of here you can just have the rest of this and get rid of the rest you don't want I don't really care". (the sports games and xbox ones will probably go somewhere else I don't really care much for those but I was too dumbfounded when he told me that)

$5 - Probably not the best deal but for a gutted 64 it didn't seem to shabby since I can hopefully find the cords and controller(or somehow get one of the two I know I had at my dad's house with that one) cheaply somewhere. I'm just scared to look up the price of the expansion pack that i know is required for dk64 and helps a few others....

$40 - gotta save this one for last even if this was probably the second thing I picked up(I'm going to pretend the first didn't happen since i know i paid too much). The gameboy he said was 10 with two games(not including the zeldas). So I just happened to spot tetris and dragon warrior monsters, and said ok these two. Then asked him how much for the zelda games, and he said $10 each. I just couldn't help myself. As well I think I saw the playstation games and he said 3 for $10 so I picked the best I could of what I saw and those just seemed interesting...
I swear the driver game I only picked up because I've seen metaljesus or someone here mention it....
Pretty decent day since I know the zeldas I would've paid more for elsewhere...

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
The expansion pak isn't hard to find. Don't pay a cent over $20.
Really good deal on the Oracle Zelda games especially because they look like they've got really clean labels.

N64 expansion packs have always been around $20 for as long as I can remember. If they are cheaper, great. You can't really go wrong for $20 though.
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Yeah they are usually only $20. Here is the cheapest one currently on ebay.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
It's kind of appalling how many people on eBay are selling the Jumper Pak claiming it's the Expansion Pak, when it even says "Jumper Pak" in their pictures.
