They used to list the year things expire ... I think you can still find what year stuff expires by jumping through some hoops. I'm gonna go check.

Alright, yeah. If you go to "Accounts & Coins", to the right of your current coin total. Then goto "To-Do History". It'll have everything listed that you've either done, or is pending. So, if you said you'll register a game, or you have a survey waiting. It'll either say if you've done it, how much its worth, or if you haven't and it's expiration date. And here, they have the year listed.

I managed to get my point count to an even 600 without having to cash in on my WiiU games, thus saving them for next year (and a possible neat-ass reward like that Luigi statue they offered earlier this year) :)

As this is my first year participating, I'm looking forward to seeing what the rewards will be.

I have a similar arrangement and still have at least 3-4 Wii U games that I haven't cashed in yet. I was taking advantage of older Wii games since I've picked up so many from Gamestop used (with codes still working).

I have never seen anything as kiddie as the Wii . I believe some critics started calling it a "toy".

Also, RE: The Gamecube as a failure. Nintendo has said in the past not beating those numbers constitutes a failure. Iwata, in 2006, said:

"I do not intend to declare how many Wii we will be selling today, but Wii will be a failure if it cannot sell far more than GameCube did. In fact, we shouldn't continue this business if our only target is to outsell GameCube. Naturally, we are making efforts so that Wii will show a far greater result than GameCube."
I can swear, some one on this forum once said that even though NGC sold low numbers it was profitable for Nintendo and according to Iwata ... well its a failure. Others also make the arguement that the Wii U numbers are not so bad and it will turn out like NGC... again according to Iwata that number is a failure to him.

No body call me crazy but some one also said that Nintendo was the only profitable console manufacturer. Both Sony and Xbox are losing money because of the big ads and big investments in games.

N64 had the most (388*), with Wii taking second place (371*), followed by GameCube (96*), and Wii U (39*).
Are you sure N64 had 388 exclusive titles? 388 games and people call it a dry games console? At this rate there is a game released every four days in the life of that console.

Also, Shame on Wii, sold 3x+ the 64 but has less exclusives than 64 (according to your numbers)

388 is closer to many games the N64 had total worldwide. There were only 297 in the US. That number is definitely wrong.

If you read the link Exhuminator posted, it says that's total games. Not exclusives.
Own: Mega Drive, Saturn, Dreamcast, Playstation 1, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, PS Vita, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Wii U, Game Boy Advance, DS, 3DS, Switch, Switch 2, Xbox, Xbox 360

Yeah but he listed only the number of exclusives for the other systems and I'm pretty sure that's what he intended to dig up for n64.

Not familiar with V-Tech and Leap Frog, huh?

This entire sentiment that's been purported since the Genesis came out as an advertising tactic is really silly. It's a subversive and dismissive technique that tries to alienate people and pressure them into buying the thing that's marketed as being "mature" and violent, for fear that if you don't, you're childish. Most adults, whom have actually grown up, aren't concerned with how childish they appear. It's a very immature idea to be so concerned with how grown up you're perceived to be.

I would say Nintendo creates things in the space of "All-ages", and their games are usually handled the same way the best all-ages material is handled, with maturity.

Recently it was summed up fairly well:
Shigeru Miyamoto wrote:It’s not that I don’t like serious stories or that I couldn’t make one, but currently in the video game industry you see a lot of game designers who are working really hard to make their games seem really cool, ... For a lot of us at Nintendo, it’s difficult to decide what cool is. In fact, it’s a lot easier for us to laugh at ourselves. It’s almost as if we’re performers. Our way of performing is by creating these fun, odd and goofy things
Whenever I hear the "Wii is kiddy" comments rolling up, I always think about the backstory in the first Mario Galaxy and how it's more mature than anything I've seen in Gears of War, God of War, or Call of Duty Modern Warfare on.

The Gears and God of Wars and such are 'mature' as they are only intended for adults to play and not for kids. Whereas Nintendo will make the all ages and PG type of games. Nintendo also makes many mascot type of games which are traditionally viewed as for kids.

That makes sense, but to me the blood and tits appeal is more likely to apply to a young teen than a grown adult. I certainly didn't play Mortal Kombat when I was a kid because I thought a juggling combat system was a unique take on a 1v1 fighter

They are "meant to be played by adults", which is appealing to kids. As an adult, I don't really care either way if a game has violence and boobs, I just care about the gameplay. Nintendo does good gameplay, Platinum Games does as well. I don't see either as being "for kids" or "for adults"
