Diff'rent strokes, diff'rent folks and all that.Xeogred wrote:I'm kind of blown away by the replies above. I thought the first was -awful-. Did you guys above play this game anytime recently? I tried playing the first for the first time earlier this year, and it hasn't aged well in any regard. Went for the highest difficulty too since I heard they're really easy, and that didn't make it any more fun or anything. The combat was really dull and extremely repetitive, just something about it wasn't rewarding at all. The jump attack to kill the flying bat things was so annoying. etcBoneSnapDeez wrote:Are the Darksiders games good? I heard they were Zelda-ish, which has me intrigued. I purchased the first one for Xbox 360 today. I noticed that the second one is available on Wii U, so I'll definitely go for that port if I enjoy the first game.
Good luck dude. lol
The game just clicked for me.

This is where I think the future of immersive gaming could be for a few years. VR + Myo (on both arms), foot pedals for movement. Eventually VR + cranial harness for movement and interaction though.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
The key word there is immersive, but there are a ton of games that don't really apply to the VR movement. Third person games in general really don't fit well with the system as well as those strange indie games that go beyond description. I think it will be an exciting new technology with awesome capabilities to engage a person, but I do not think it will replace what we have.Exhuminator wrote:

It will definitely be very niche for a while unless the big companies fully back it and give great support. Cost will probably be a huge factor if they want to develop it further and create games that fully utilize it.BogusMeatFactory wrote:The key word there is immersive, but there are a ton of games that don't really apply to the VR movement. I don't know where you guys have been, but I've been enjoying VR with my Virtual Boy for almost 20 years...

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Yes, but the technology wasn't there yet. Now it's actually getting here.
I think once they iterate on this a few times, it'll get small enough where it can be embedded into useful devices and we'll just see something else entirely happen.
If the phone in your pocket can record your body's movement accurately, and the glasses on your face can project onto the world. It'd be much more useful for VR and AR applications.

Nah. If the early implementations suck, it'll never go anywhere. Just like tablets, or streaming video.
