1. Strider (Arcade/PS2)
2. Thief Gold (PC)
3. Ys II (PC)
4. System Shock 2 (PC)
5. The Typing of the Dead (DC)6. Marvel vs. Capcom (DC)
7. Bushido Blade (PS1)
8. Wario Land (Virtual Boy)
9. Spyro the Dragon (PS1)
10. Eye of the Beholder (Sega CD)

Just an update since TotD is done.

Thief remains on hold as my PC is kaput, even though I am a bit past half way and absolutely loving the game. It will likely be another few weeks until I get to fire it back up :(

System Shock 2 on Steam supposedly works fine in OSX, so I may play that in the meantime. Is there any real important reason to play System Shock 1 first? Is there a place where I should perhaps go read or watch some stuff about it?

Did you manage to grab your save file or something before your PC died? Or are you assuming you'll be able to grab it off the drive once you rebuild?

Same rogue AI from game to game in SS. I never beat SS but I did beat SS2, I think you'd be fine just playing the second.

1. Dragon's Lair
2. Final Fantasy Tactics
3. Flashback
4. Halo 2

6. Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake
7. Military Madness
8. R-Type Delta
9. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
10. Virtual Boy Wario Land
I have been insanely busy, but not too busy to complete Virtual Boy Wario Land. It was a very fun, albeit quite short, game. (It took me just nearly two and a half hours to get through the game with all of the "secret" treasures.) I rank it among the best in the "Wario Land" series, and I thought that the game's use of the "3D" effects added quite a bit to it.

Sadly, I still have not had time for a "marathon" R-Type Delta session, but I have spent a lot of time with Nectaris: Military Madness. I have completed 13 of the main campaign's 16 maps, and I should unlock the original TG16 Military Madness campaign soon.

(Military Madness is really hard, BTW. It is relatively easy to figure out the computer's general strategy in each battle, but the computer never makes a tactical error and starts each scenario with a nearly overwhelming advantage. Between this and R-Type Delta, Summer 2014 is quickly turning into the Summer of Unforgiving PS1 Games)

Though I consider you a buddy, I am enjoying watching Delta crush your spirit and am looking forward to it eating your soul before September.

My favorite in the series, actually. It was on my list for last year's Challenge but I never got around to finishing it.

I think it's doing ok. It's 30 pages of chat up compared to this time last year. Though I do wonder how many of those pages are devoted to arguing with Dsh about what counts as a classic.

OT: I've been making steady progress with Exhumed. Just got past one very pissy underwater level. If you can imagine swimming in 3D with the saturns 2D pad while dodging piranhas and exploding mines then you can probably envisage the problems this level gave me. Otherwise though I am thoroughly impressed by the quality of every aspect of the game.
