Still no word on the Amazon black consoles...
Yes. Other games that should also be working include Arkanoid and Donkey Kong Classics.

I've heard good things about the new cheat system, but I'm happy to see the button mapping issues resolved myself.

1.4 is now installed on my unit.

As for black consoles, they are getting sent out to more and more people each day so hang in there.

Does that mean the controller, or just something that was up with the game itself for playing with pad?

IIRC Arkanoid was just freezing up and crashing for some reason.

The game itself had graphical corruption issues. I believe some of the NES work done on this firmware cleared it all up. Same with a few other games people reported as not working. There are still a few that still don't work, the most notable being the Super Spike V'Ball / Nintendo World Cup 2-in-1 cartridge.

They are trying to get an original Arkanoid controller so that it can be tested and supported in a future update. It's also nice to see original SMS pads supported now too.

I was curious about this, because a reviewer I've been watching on YouTube stated that it worked while several older reviews said it did not.

They can borrow mine if they send it back and give me a system for my trouble.

Hi new here. Ordered a black model on march 27 at the $99 price. Being a prim member i had 2 day free shipping. After reading the thread I contacted amazon and asked first about a week ago to change to the grey version but they were already sold out. Contacted again a few days ago and they bumped it up to 1 day shipping and gave me a five dollar credit. I'll wait till whenever as its worth it to me to be patient.

One tip I'd like to offer in regards to the difficulties in the slots hard removal and insertion in some cases resulting in bent pins. Automotive electronic grease can be bought on the cheap and can be found at local auto parts store or even Walmart might have it. Apply it after a thorough cleaning of the cartridge contacts. It will provide protection to the contacts while offering some much needed lube. All little around the inside of the casing housing the contacts could'nt hurt either.

I wouldn't really recommend greasing the slots. On a vehicle that is constantly subjected to vibration, moisture, and thermal changes, it can make sense on a connection that rarely comes apart and needs to keep out the environment for the years between disconnects. Those types of things are mostly staying together. On a console where you're constantly un/replugging it will collect dust as it sticks to the contacts for the bulk of the time that there's not a cart connected.

Hopefully the tight slots will loosen a little after some use.

I don't know I was going to use just a little with a qtip. After seeing seeing so many bent pins and people having there retrons lose functionality on certain slots, I think it would a better than having to hassle with warranty returns and the like.

Most videos I've watched show people testing every single cart they can get a hold of. That's a lot of pulling pushing into the slots as compared to the old days of playing just a few games for longer times. A lot of stress on somewhat newer and untried hardware.

Plus the amount of dust a cars engine is exposed to versus what one experiences in a home is vastly different. Unless u live in an environment that is super dusty in which case u would likely be cleaning your carts on a constant basis the benefits would out weigh the negatives. I recommended the auto electric grease over other lubes since it is non corrosive to plastics. But hey to each his own.
