The DC release will come i'm fairly sure, but it truly is an afterthought and the XYX release was the most significant difference to date. While I haven't played the MVS cart yet, I did play the DC port - which was too fast and glitchy. By all counts of those who've played XYX on MVS, it's smooth as butter and an entirely different experience.

I'll grab Razion on AES once pre-orders are announced - i'm sold after watching some other videos. I am nervous about have 3 pre-orders all pending at once, but they've been pretty reliable overall, but of course they do tend to miss their dates.

I'm hesitant to get excited after the Dux situation, but I absolutely adore LHPB. I can't help but be a little excited.

I just hope the DC port comes off better than XYX.

I picked up a boxed and complete Neo Pocket Golf on ebay for the princely sum of £2.50!

I already owned the cart but nice to add a complete version to my NGPC collection. I'll probably keep both carts because it seems the special clubs can only be won in 2 player matches and they are probably immensely useful to beating the single player.

After trying out some of SNK's games with the Neo Geo CD, I've decided to get an MVS and a supergun. The load times are a deal breaker for a lot of games. After a few days of research and online searching, I've come across these:

The cheapest MVS board I could find: $104 after shipping

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/1pcs-of- ... 75703.html

Cheapest 161 in 1: $66 after shipping

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/SNK-161- ... 38007.html

Cheapest Supergun: $55 with shipping(?) It only outputs SCART, but I'm hoping a cheap amazon converter to svideo will work.

http://www.smallcab.net/supergun-light- ... 6k7tY1dUu1

Total without power supply: $225

So I gotta ask, are these prices reasonable? Or are there better cheaper ways to get an MVS to play at home? Also, does anyone have experience with that alexipress site?

Damn I didn't realize 161's were that cheap. I might have to eventually get one to test out games I'm thinking of buying.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed
Chronically out of date BST thread

@ bumblechump - you can get an MVS mobo for considerably cheaper from HKLegend or ANY of the JP shops, pm me if you want details.

The 161 is not a well-made cart. Mine worked well initially and wonked out - tldr; was sent to Xian Xi and he commented at the horrid quality of them. Aliexpress is the best place to get it but be forewarned, they no longer take paypal, so you'll need to do bank transfer or credit card. Not necessarily "bad", but certainly riskier. I still use them but only dealers I know and have some level of trust with.

The smallcab superguns I can't comment on directly but I can tell you I see them for sale often on shmups forums (with more international members this makes sense) and people always cite the reason for selling as they want to upgrade. Obviously you know it's entry level, but to me, i'd just get something decent to start. That said - anything to get more people into arcade works for me :D

Damn, your 161-in-1 crapped out?

Mine still works fine, but I can imagine that yours got much more use in a smaller amount of time.

Actually, I only used it maybe 12 hours total, sold it and one of the chips literally broke free in shipping (it seems, or operator error, not sure) but when sent to James to trouble-shoot he commented that they is no QC with these and all are likely to have issues sooner than later :/

I'm glad I sold my spare 161 in 1 locally to a NG forum member, I even told him not to send payment until he physically tests the cart in his cab since there seem to be so many issues with these things. Fortunately no issues.

Huh, strange. I've gotten tons of use out of mine between all the Metal Slugs, trying out new games, and playing many rounds of Garou, DD, and various shmups.

I'd like to start a legit MVS library, but right now a combination of not having extra money and space are preventing that.
