I think I used an emulator called Red Dragon when I played that game. Wish I owned the real cart.

1. Strider (Arcade/PS2)
2. Thief Gold (PC)
3. Ys II (PC)
4. System Shock 2 (PC)
5. The Typing of the Dead (DC)
6. Marvel vs. Capcom (DC)
7. Bushido Blade (PS1)
8. Wario Land (Virtual Boy)
9. Spyro the Dragon (PS1)
10. Eye of the Beholder (Sega CD)

I'm into uncharted territory for getting the Summer Challenge done. Wario Land goes down. Great game!

Thief Gold is on hold as my PC is kaput, but that game is great…and I'm a little over half way done. 8)

Making some progress through Other M, but it's starting to get a bit annoying. The scanning segments are very, very frustrating, and they serve absolutely no purpose. The graphics also seem to be starting to suffer the longer the games go on, looking like a PS1 game at some points, which is inexcusable, even for the Wii. I don't know about this one.

Spent more time with Shantae.

Decided to gather everything before the final dungeon - it took a while, although it was greatly streamlined with the Harpy transformation which lets me fly. I now have all 10 dances, all 4 pieces of fighter equipment which grant extra moves, and the talismans which let you attack whilst transformed into each animal.

The game is still very flawed, but I still want to like it. The second game might be worth a look in in future - maybe they fixed some of the issues I have with this first game.

Tomorrow I can jump into the final dungeon, and should hopefully finish the game.

Awesome :D I probably won't get that far this year, but I don't mind since it's my first time haha

But, I did finally beat Half-Life! :D It was a bit frustrating at points but I'm still glad I played it, even it was just for that weird ending ha. Also I guess it's good to try something that I wouldn't normally play

Anyways, I did mess around with my list a bit and added a few more. (even if I doubt I'll get to all 10, mind as well try :P)

1. LoZ: Ocarina of Time (Wii VC)
2. Ico (PS2)
3. Silent Hill (PS1)
4. Super Mario 64 (Wii VC)
5. LoZ: Oracle of Ages (3DS VC)
6. Half-Life (Steam)
7. Super Punch-Out!! (Wii VC)
8. Ys I (+Ys II?) (Steam)
9. Gunstar Heroes (Steam)
10. Phantasy Star (GEN)

Still debating whether to keep Silent Hill... I'm not used to tank controls so I can see that that might turn out ><; Plus I'm not sure whether to do both Ys I & II, and if they should be two separate entries or not... I've heard they should be played together but I dunno :/

First, congratulations! To my shame, I have never played through any of the games in the Half Life series. Hopefully, I will get to them someday.

Second, you have a great list. Each of those games has earned its status as a classic, and I wish I was playing all of them again for the first time.

Third, Ys and Ys II are basically one game, and I highly recomend playing them back-to-back.

Thanks! :D And I hope you get to play it too. I'm sure anyone other than me would have an easier time as well haha

Well I'm glad I managed to choose all classics lol. I tend to not know what is and what isn't... and it's good for me to play more classic games since I missed out on a ton ><; (didn't really get into playing games until the Gamecube)

Ok, I'll probably do that then. I have a feeling I'll like Ys anyhow, so the more excuses to play more, the better

I played Ys I and Ys II years apart and it was fine. I think both games are distinct and different enough that they can be enjoyed on their own terms.
