Again, a few more Half-Life chapters...
I got to a point where I lost all my weapons, which normally I would be mad about... but I actually enjoyed those chapters more than when I had a ton of guns and ammo. I don't really enjoy a ton of military guys rushing at me with grenades...
Of course that didn't last very long, and now they have a helicopter after me >:l I highly doubt I can shoot it down... hopefully I won't have to put up with it for much longer.

Quoted for eternal truth and great justice. Takes your 1cc and makes it 100cc every. time. Arcade and DC. That's my experience anyway. They made the first 5 or 6 fights easy for that reason.dsheinem wrote:Onslaught is a fucking asshole
Onslaught wins

I'm a bit flabbergasted at my own progress. I am also a few hours into Thief Gold as wellalienjesus wrote:I just realised that dsheinem is two games ahead of me on this.

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2014
Thief is a really interesting game, I am glad I put it on the list.
The sense of exploration and discovery is really very cool, much greater than in most FPSs I've played (and certainly moreso that in modern ones). It's more akin to something that's open world than a standard corridor-based FPS. I also like how there seems to be a lot of reasons and ways to not fight...
I sort of assumed that the game would be "all stealth all the time" but, thus far, the most intense stealth sections are well separated and fairly doable: I always feel like it is my own stupid fault if I die, and nothing feels cheap. The highlight thus far is the level design: it's a really well crafted game.
I hope what I've encountered through the first 3-4 levels and hours is consistent across the rest of the game.

Not a Summer Challenge game per se, but I'm now playing Metroid: Zero Mission which is a retelling of the original game. Digging it a lot so far.
