Yeah, totally worth your time. It's my favourite Metroid as well and my favourite Gamecube title. The connectivity is cool as well but I think you have to beat Fusion before you can unlock the Fusion suit in Prime.ExedExes wrote:So it might be worth my time eventually? Yes, you have to complete it, but it's just a good reason for me to continue to find good deals on both of them.Sload Soap wrote:Yeah, totally worth your time. I almost wish I would've found the original metroid before even getting fusion but I can admit fusion is great. It was a ton of fun until I dropped my sp and the speaker stopped working for awhile(don't know why but I couldn't bring myself to touch the thing without sound and wasn't near my gc when playing it).
Zelda update: was going great until my shield was eaten by a like like...so I had to backtrace to one of the 90 rupee shield dealers again...going to attempt more after I sleep i need to get more than 4 hours of sleep since I work tonight

1. Metroid Prime - GC
2. Resident Evil 2 - PS1
3. Earthbound - SNES
4. Crash Bandicoot - PS1 -Complete
5. X-men Vs. Street Fighter - Saturn -Complete
6. Wonder Boy in Monster World - Genesis
7. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night - PS1
8. Wave Race 64 - N64 -Complete
9. Ico - PS2
10.Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island -SNES - Complete
I've been freakin' busy lately (and that isn't going to change anytime soon) but I finally sat down and finished off Yoshi's Island.
Its a great game, with some very interesting (if sometimes too long) levels. A bit on the easy side though.
I've heard people call this the greatest platformer ever. It certainly does not live up to that claim. At the same time though, I can see why people were so bummed back when Yoshi's Story came out and it was so different from this one.
The only other game on this list I have in progress right now is Wonder Boy, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to get back to that yet. In fact, I find I'm not real enthusiastic about any of these at this moment. Probably need to play something else for a bit. Guess we'll see.

I played Yoshi's Island earlier this year. It's odd. I like Mario games to be light and breezy and fast, but YI is so slow and deliberate. Not a bad game, just different - and in my opinion vastly inferior to its predecessor.

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2014
I actually think both Mario World and Yoshi's Island are fine games, but they all pale in comparison to the Donkey Kong Country series, which are the best platformers on the system. All 3 of them.
Especially the 3rd.
Especially the 3rd.

Despite the SMW2 subtitle (which wasn't there on the Japanese version), I really find it weird to talk about YI as if it's a sequel to Super Mario World. It's more the start of its own separate series than anything related to the original Super Mario Bros tetralogy.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I played Yoshi's Island earlier this year. It's odd. Was just writing something similar myself. Island is as removed as Luigi's Mansion or Wario Land. I think it would not have been half the game it was if it had just been another Mario game with a sprite swap.AppleQueso wrote: Despite the SMW2 subtitle (which wasn't there on the Japanese version), I really find it weird to talk about YI as if it's a sequel to Super Mario World. Wario Land and Mario Land share an entry in their series. For some reason that always bugged me.
