Heartbreaking for Ghana. They were better in the second half.

Bugger me sideways. Beckerman has been a rock in this game. Solid performance, nothing spectacular but a good start. Can they beat Portugal? It's Possible.

At the very least the USA will win the prize for most tackily tattooed squad.

John Brooks: 5 International Caps, 1 Goal.

Seriously, we ground that one out, and we were struggling in the second half. Boateng could've really taken it to us. Bradley is our spark and he was fairly nonpresent that second half, too. I'm slightly worried.

How about Dempsey getting clobbered in the face, that was neat.

Beckerman had a few great defensive stops. I don't necessarily think I see what Sload Soap sees, he's great for Real Salt Lake but I'm still not convinced. I think the true test is whether or not our defense can tighten up and make sure Ronaldo sits on an island on Sunday.

He did the gritty stuff that doesn't look pretty but is important to the team.

Basically he made tackles at important times to break up Ghana's play and allow the USA team time on the ball.

More technically, he and the other midfielders formed an excellent defensive shape when not on the ball making it hard for Ghana to get their passing game going.

That and he had sweet dreds.
