The one that came with SMTIV is really nice looking, but I haven't read it for fear of spoilers.
the maps are really nice to have. And also some good tables in there.

Fear not though, it's not a strategy guide for the full game. Only like the first third or so to get yr feet wet.
I think the Ys: Memories of Celceta guide is like that too. I'm not sure because I haven't played the game yet. I've been too busy playing Ys I & II. Repeatedly.

Hmm, I wonder how many times he would have to play and beat Ys I & II to match your time in X-COM?

Probably a lot. Ys is pretty short.

I just started playing Yoshi's New Island. I don't know what the community here thinks of it (I haven't really read this thread in a while) but I remember it getting negative reviews when it first came out.

Well, I just played the first five levels and I don't see what's so bad about it. To me, it really feels just like Yoshi's Island on the SNES.

On another note... Can any one recommend me a good case for the 3DS XL? I'm thinking about grabbing the Amazon Basics one for $10. It looks like it can fit the wall charger, too. Unless some one can recommend something better?

edit: After looking at more of the pictures of the Amazon Basics case, it doesn't look like it'd fit the wall charger in there. Does any one know of a case that would? Preferably, one that isn't much bigger than that case?

That's the main point of contention I've read about. A paint by numbers sequel.

To that I'll argue two points.

1) Wasn't A Link Between Worlds more or less a "paint by numbers sequel" of Link to the Past?

2) If the game was any different than it is, people would be complaining about that instead.

That's always the issue with sequels. Play it safe and give the fans more of the same, or change up the formula and risk alienating the fans or messing it up. Tough line to walk and you can't please everyone.
