I see these posts all the time. I don't get them. I understand it is accepted to say them...but...look better is subjective. The reality is on most televisions the improvement is negligible. I have all last gen consoles and I don't think any look better or worse on the same TV's. I bet if you're rocking 60" screens, PS3 looks better than Wii, but if you tell me you get more enjoyment looking at the same game on PS3 than Wii and your TV is 40" or smaller, it's just fanboy talk.

As far as smoother...in what regard...again, it's just spewing the same stuff Sony says, lists some fancy specs, and then mass consensus is it must be smoother. I honestly don't even know what smoother means regarding last gen. What a silly word.

Here's some smooth facts:

*PS3 loads up to initial menu slower than 360 AND Wii.
*PS3 requires a download of almost (not all, but almost all) disc based games. 360 only if you're going online. Wii, the console I played most, i've done one download ever.
*PSN store is good, but not as user friendly as eshop. (can't comment on Live)
*When selecting a downloaded or disc based game from main menu, again, wii fastest, 360 next, ps3 last.
*I've never been online with 360, but I have with Wii and PS3 alot. PS3 has DNS server errors often - I frequently ( a few times a month get knocked out of matches or have re-sign in) - never had a single issue with wii once I went to ethernet cable (PS3 has always been on ethernet).

Yeah, you completely missed the entire point of my post... I was talking cross-gen games. So the same game on both PS3 and PS4.

So I was spewing the fact that the framerate on most PS4 games compared to PS3 version is much better.

Now, if you are trying to compare graphical quality and capability between say PS3 and Wii, I don't think you have much ground to stand on. I can give credit to some Wii games art styles, but resolution is indisputable. If you can't tell the difference between 480p and 1080I or 720P then I dont know what to tell you...

To be fair Wii U at least looks amazing and the difference between PS4 and Wii U is nowhere near as noticeable as the difference between PS3 and Wii

I can't. I suspect most others can't as well, but what an embarrassing thing to admit.

Even when both consoles are on a 480i TV, the difference is night and day.

I think you are picking the wrong fight. I am not a fanboy of anything really. I like good games. Graphics, and specifically textures and resolutions are fairly objective and arent really disputable. You caring or not about them however is your agenda which is cool.

It's not a fight

I read the same posts - not just from you, saying the same things, and i think it bleeds into the subconscious as fact and if you don't agree you get told things like, "...I can't help you..." and "...you're picking the wrong fight..."

I've played Goldeneye Reloaded and Madden 08, on the same TV with the same connections, PS3 compared to Wii and did not notice a difference. None. TV is Toshiba Regza 37", connection was component.

If you are rocking a Jerry Jones Jumbotron, I bet those awesome specs pull their weight. I think it's negligible at best on TV's 40" and under.

Up until recently I did most my gaming on a 32", the difference was night and day.

I love the Wii, I am not saying it does not have good looking games. But even if both consoles run at the same res (480i) the low and muddy textures, framerate and lack of particles, objects removed of the Wii are overtly obvious compared to the PS3/360.

Small example.

The funny thing is, you come off as the fanboy with that comment.

Wrong fight was more of a figure of speech. Maybe barking up the wrong tree?

But, you came out of left field with a passive aggressive console war fanboy argument full of snark when I was discussing cross gen PS3 vs PS4 comparisons.

And it isnt anything that bleeds into subconscious. I am an electrical engineer with some passing knowledge of hardware specs and performance. I also play PC games quite often and notice a drastic difference on my 23" when I change the resolutions around in games.

I also said I dont know what to tell you, not that I cant help you. And I really dont know what to tell you, I notice a difference, and you don't.
