Can they manufacture it cheap enough? And if PS+ starts achieving higher adoption rate on the PS4, will Sony want to keep promoting the PS3?

I'm not saying it's impossible, but the PS2 had so much going for it and the PS3 so much against it (at launch), that I just don't see the PS3 selling another 20 million units. 10-15 is probably a realistic goal. Still a very good console (and I am a huge fan of it) though :)

Because it is a better console with more upside and a new library of games to look forward to for the next half decade or more.

Or they are a kid and they can only buy one console every 5 years :P

Or see it as the new, the hip, and the now.....or like me saw so many games announced as supposed launch or near launch titles but saw most of them delayed several months(drive club and watch_dogs I'm looking at you!)

I get that when something is new, people want it. I just don't get why people rush out to buy the thing when the library of games is small, cross-gen, and really doesn't offer too much of what we already have. If there was a killer app in the launch line-up like a Final Fantasy 7 remake, at least then I could wrap my head around it, but there seemed to just be sports games, FPS, and Knack. This is gonna be my last post complaining about this sort of thing though, because it is what it is.

Lots of people like sports and fps games, they represent a very large gamer demographic. I would also prefer to play cross-gen games on the more advanced platform. They typically run smoother and look better.

I can get behind that, but I guess when you're into the type of games I enjoy, there wasn't much on offer, nor were any in development at launch. Wouldn't the remake of FF7 have been a perfect launch title, even if just to have an RPG in the line-up? Even I would have had to give some serious consideration at that point.

Sure, I love me some RPGs. I can't say I'd really care too much for a FF7 remake though. The system will get those games, amd I know I will be buying one anyway, so I got it now to play the games it does have. For the most part it is great. Menus are smooth and responsive, games run well and have nice framerates. I expect the graphics to gradually get better typical to most console life cycles. Why shouldnt I get one?

Nintendo just uploaded footage from 20+ upcoming eShop games (and one or two retail releases too by the looks of it) if anyone wants to take a look. Mostly indie stuff, a few bigger releases we knew about already:

A.N.N.E looks interesting. From their site it is a Platformer/Shmup with RPG elements. Sounds and looks like a Shmup version of Blaster Master.
