I agree that Innocence is pretty solid, the rooms start to feel samey off and on which was my complaint. But all around, it's arguably far more Castlevania than Lords of Shadow could ever hope to be. Plus the music was still amazing.Sload Soap wrote:Thanks. Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness are kind of oddities in the 'Vania franchise. Not much about them online. I am enjoying Curse so I will probably check out Innocence one day.Exhuminator wrote:Lament Of Innocence is pretty decent. From a gameplay perspective it's solid enough, though it gets a bit monotonous at times. I'd give it a 7/10. Best 3D Castlevania I've played at least.

Re: What are you playing?
My issue with Curse of Darkness so far is that by being like the 2D Metroidvania's, it's full of long ass corridors and symmetrical level design. I think some of the textures are a bit cheap as well. The music is great though and it does feel very Castlevania-y. It helps that Trevor Belmont is present to tie it to the wider series.
Re: What are you playing?
That was basically my complaint for Innocence as well. Those hallways and repeating rooms are rampant in the 2D games, but it's a bit more tiresome in 3D.
Re: What are you playing?
Started up two games in the last few days:
DmC (2013)(PC): Really enjoyed it so far. I don't have any love for the series, so the reason I was drawn to this was Ninja Theory and so far I'm not disappointed. Seems like your typical cheesy Capcom storyline but better acted than something like Resident Evil. Pretty decent acting actually. I got to Chapter 4 before I quit and the difficulty ramp seems nice, compared to Devil May Cry which kicked my ass back in the day.
Watch_Dogs (PS4): Graphics in this game are super impressive and the story started off with a bang (pun intended) and hasn't really slowed down. I like the gameplay so far, moving between cameras and what not ... it really feels like a mash-up of GTA and Assassin's Creed. I also got the White Hat Hacker outfit, it makes it feel even more like AC.
We'll see if the feeling changes, but right now I'm thinking I won't do too much side stuff in this one.

I'm doing the same thing as well and skipping most of the side stuff. It's just not interesting and I don't feel like I am missing out by doing that.Stark wrote: Watch_Dogs (PS4): Graphics in this game I super impressive and the story started off with a bang (pun intended) and hasn't really slowed down. Yeah and to be clear that's outside the norm for me, I usually have to collect it all in this type of game. I'll probably do more side quests once I feel like abilities are gated by not getting more skill points.FerretGamer wrote:I'm doing the same thing as well and skipping most of the side stuff. -Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing (the first one): what a fun kart racer. I think it's somewhat underrated simply because its not Mario Kart.
-Dante's Inferno: I've only played it for an hour or so but so far this game really is awesome. It's moves along at a fast pace, has very good set pieces, and the environments are unbelievable. It's not very original but if you like the combat in games like Devil May Cry or even the newer Ninja Gaidens this game is a no brainer given that you can find it for $5-10.

@stark when I was playing that game I think I got to the quest titled "Open Your world" And after that it felt like it was really nesscary to do at least some side quests....I don't regret doing most of them that I have even if they are usually the same thing over and over but in a different location. I just haven't gave that game much love lately and I'm going to in a few weeks....

I've played quite a bit more now and I'd say some of the sidequests suck like the Coin Quest and some of the Trips, but the Investigation, Privacy Invasion, and a couple of others are fairly cool actually. The more I play of it the more of a AC vibe I get, especially with the ctOS tower unlocks, which is a straight rip from AC.darsparx wrote:@stark when I was playing that game I think I got to the quest titled "Open Your world" And after that it felt like it was really nesscary to do at least some side quests....I don't regret doing most of them that I have even if they are usually the same thing over and over but in a different location. Re: What are you playing?
Well yeah, it's made by ubisoft so what do you expect? It's kinda like AC without the ancestor portions. The trips/minigames I think are meant to just be more of a time waster and plus if phones were that advanced in a city like that i can see games like the coin rush popping up. But side quests are really nice after the first couple of quests because I had trouble getting the focus to be better and I really needed that to be even able to take down half of those guys in some of the areas in the game so far...
