Wanted to bump this because I was doing some more research on my RGB SCART output (PC Engine Duo-R) and from what I found, these component pass-throughs only work when you're going component to scart, not the other way.

Anyone have a pass through that works for my setup (CRT with component)?

Not possible. Component doesn't have enough pins to carry RGB.

Thanks - is there anything you can do with SCART to VGA?

I don't know much about it. GBS 8220 or the XRGB3 can be done, they need an adapter for SCART.

You can get SCART to component transcoders. Theoretically it should be be able to be done without any noticeable quality loss, but in practice these transcoders can sometime miss the mark a little bit. Personally, I find them pretty sufficient.

Also I'll add if you're not crazy-picky about having the absolute most perfect video and/or you just want something temporarily to fill the void "right now" --

There's very, very inexpensive RGB SCART to S-Video adapters to be had on ebay or amazon. And yes, S-Vid *is* a step down from RGB or Component/YPbPr (which, as previously mentioned, are basically indistinguishable to the average human eye), but it's usually not a major one. And as has often been pointed out before (elsewhere, not in this thread) -- when we grew up, we played these systems on RF. Maybe if you were lucky you got Composite. I don't think I even SAW an S-Vid or RGB/YPbPr cable until I was in college, much less thought of using it for better video gaming

For about $9 I can get the S-video adapter and a S-video cable so this seems like the best option. The big question will be the visual difference from the regular duo composite output and the SCART->S-Video output. Worth a look.
