I should probably give Corpse Party a second chance. I played it a few years ago and got frustrated with how it made you repeat large swaths of the game if you died or made decisions the developers didn't want you to. Game had great atmosphere at least.

Just in case you didn't know, it got a sequel that was localized for PSP (or Vita too I suppose):

That's a fair complaint I suppose. I felt the game did a good job of hinting at what not to do though. Think I only got 2 or 3 "game overs" myself. The game does indeed have phenomenal atmosphere, specifically the music. I'm a sucker for game music though. Lol

I know about the sequel, just haven't played it yet. There's even another one coming to Vita this summer so hopefully XSEED localizes it too. Apparently it usew chibi style 3D models instead of sprites so Idk what to think of that yet.

Also, does anybody have any clue what Xblayze: Code Embryo is about? I know it's a visual novel that is a prequel to the Blazblue series (fighting gamew have stories?) but what is the actual plot about?

The protagonist, Touya Kagari, is a resident of Shin Yokozaki City and a sophomore at the prestigious Hakuou North Academy. An earnest and responsible young man, Touya appears to be no more than your average high school student.
While returning from his part-time job, he heard a mysterious sound coming from the depths of the Restricted Ward, an area off-limits to unauthorized personnel due to a horrible disaster that happened there ten years ago…
His curiosity having gotten the best of him, Touya ventured ever deeper into the ruins of the ward, eventually coming across a man who appeared to be gravely injured. Concerned, Touya rushed to his side, asking if he was okay and if he needed any help.
But as Touya approached, the man suddenly stood up and attacked, screaming, “You’re an enemy!”
And in the midst of invisible ringing bells, psychotic strangers, exploding walls of flame, and almost certain death, a small, cute girl with an enormous sword came charging in…
And despite her frilly, fragile appearance, her battle prowess was beyond reason or doubt. The name of Touya’s savior was Es, a soldier belonging to the Mitsurugi Agency.
Seithr, Drives, Unions, and secretive organizations…
Yanked from the comfort of his everyday life, Touya was forced head-long into a world where the threat of death was everywhere and even allies could be his downfall…
The wheel of fate has begun to turn…
And the story of the Azure, and that of Touya Kagari and the mysterious girl Es, began.

I'll buy it because I have an addiction to buying localized Japanese developed Vita games, but I can quit whenever I want.

Quick question - Soul Sacrifice is $6.49 with the PSN flash sale going on. There are 12 add-ons for the game that are free as well. The online pass is $9.99 but is it necessary? I don't know much about the game but the price seems right.

You'd be better off getting Soul Sacrifice Delta, even if it costs more, because it has tons more content and an updated graphics engine.

Is it strictly a co-op game where you have to have the online pass to play though?

No it has a robust single player campaign. All the info you could want:

It's a Keiji Inafune game, you're in good hands.

Anyone have an experience with Dangan Ronpa 1 on Vita? I don't watch anime and wanted to know if watching the series this is based on is essential to an enjoyable gameplay experience? Also what is the gameplay like? Phoenix Wright style gameplay?

Just go play it. Trust me. If you like Phoenix Wright games and anime-ish stuff I don't why you wouldn't enjoy it.

I believe the anime just tells the same events as the game so it really doesn't matter which you go with.
