What RPG are you playing right now?
Re: What RPG are you playing right now?
I had stalled in my FFV four locked jobs playthrough at the crystal guardians. Then I realized that the 3500 my Berserker would do off of a Sword Dance from the Dancing Dagger worked out really well from a math perspective. I basically just let my Zerker Sword Dance everything twice and then the rest of the party would finish it off before it could cast the deadly aoe magic; in the meantime they spammed high potions to keep their health up. Then I did Exdeath on my second try (first try he spammed a little too much aoe magic), though I was left with just my Ninja up who'd been tossing non-stop shurikens. Now I've just started the third world and fortunately Bartz and Krile are my Monk and Ninja, so I'm fairly set. Lenna (whom you get last) is my Berserker, so what started as an aesthetic choice has turned out to work out well in terms of how I get my party back.

Right now I'm playing the first Mass Effect series along with Tales of Vesperia since I got a XBox 360 for my birthday. I'm semi stuck in Mass Effect 1 on the side mission on Earth's Moon, Luna. I keep dying on the last base, I'm thinking of skipping the sidequest and go do some more stuff before I come back.

My fiesta team last year was one of the worst combinations possible (not quite the worst though) - Thief, Zerker, Geomancer and Dragoon. They had no chemistry at all - skills don;t pass well between those classes.
I actually found my berserker to be consistently useful for the most part, unlike my geomancer who was either amazing or worthless and my Dragoon who never seemed to hit anywhere near as hard as I'd expect.

Dancer. And I'm doing a natural challenge so my Monk can only be a Monk and only use Monk skills, same with the others.alienjesus wrote:Monk, Zerker and Ninja....What's your 4th?MrPopo wrote:I had stalled in my FFV four locked jobs playthrough at the crystal guardians. Actually, Thief and Zerker isn't too bad when you mix skills; you put Fleet Footwork on the Zerker and Berserk on the Thief and now you have two fast attacking people who hit really hard.

I couldn't afford to lose that control over the thief (he was my one consistent attacker). I gave footwork to my berserker, but he still always seemed to hit slower than the others - I put it down to his heavy armour.MrPopo wrote:Dancer. I went with this set up in the end:
Thief w/Mug - Chicken knife user, mug bypasses the flee effect
Zerker w/Footwork - attacks a lot
Geomancer w/Footwork - spammed potions
Dragoon w/eq.axe - to try and make him hit harder (passes Zerker attack). I think I may have only used this because he hadnt master footwork.
Hoping for a more interesting team this year. That team was fun for challenge, but it doesnt offer up a lot of options - generally they all just attack until stuff is dead. No tactics involved.
Re: What RPG are you playing right now?
That's basically been what's happening for me. My Zerker swings, my Dancer either dances or pops potions on people, my Monk hits things in the face (and sometimes kicks), and my ninja actually has some choices regarding how to hit people in the face. Sometimes he throws an elemental scroll, sometimes a hard hitting weapon/shuriken, and sometimes just a regular attack.

Omniscient was worst. Think it took 11 hours or so of the PSP running whilst my character sat there protected by their wall rings for him to run out of MP so I could kill him without him casting reset.MrPopo wrote:That's basically been what's happening for me. I didn't have access to magic. Geomancy counts as a physical move for reaction script purposes.

I'm hoping and Praying that the one town that sells Mage Mashers still sells them in World 3, since I forgot to hold on to mine. Then it becomes go through the Reset loop until the silence lands.

Re: What RPG are you playing right now?
One silence won't be enough, he breaks out of it almost instantly. Nab yourself a Wall Ring from Wall Knights in Exdeaths Castle (rare drop). Attack yourself with the mage masher until it reflects - the attack hits you, but the mute spell will bounce off and hit Omni instead.
I found that silence didn't last quite long enough for me to get a hit in though. You have all of a second to hit him before he breaks out.

Re: What RPG are you playing right now?
You were right with regards to the silence not lasting long enough. I had to snag the thief knife from Mirage and steal a couple Wall Rings from the monsters inside the Phoenix Tower. I've been sitting here for an hour supervising the battle (since I can't reflect drain) and last tome he Libra'd he was at 5000. I've been fortunate that he hasn't really used drain at all and likes to spam Bio (which outdamages the Regen).alienjesus wrote:One silence won't be enough, he breaks out of it almost instantly. Edit: Apparently when he hits 4000 his attack script shifts to spamming -aga magic, so je went down super fast when he hit that point.
