I've got an Impreza and it's been doing great for me so far. The AWD works quite well in the winter and is nice on hills (you don't get that massive roll back like regular cars get and somehow no one in Seattle has been taught the "keep the foot on the break and apply gas, then release break" method of not rolling in the car behind you).

I actually wanted to buy an Impreza back in 09 or 10 when I got my current car. But a lot of things weren't working out for me. At the time I was under the age of 25 and insurance was gonna be something like $4k/year. Now that I'm over 25, insurance wont kill me. Also, I was without a car for about a month. There's a Toyota dealership really close to my house, and the 99 Camry only had only 50k miles on it and 1 original owner. Because of the age of the car they wouldn't give a car loan on it, so I took out a small personal loan. So since I didn't have a lean on the car, insurance became affordable. Put it all together and I settled with the Camry.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Camry. But now that I'm able to afford something that's faster AND gets better gas millage...

Popo, you got the hatch or the 4-door? My favorite type of vehicle is a sedan, and I'm not a fan of the way the 5-door looks. But the added cargo benefit would be great for me.

I got the four door. When I was in college I had a Subaru Outback and I've definitely missed the cargo space (would have saved a lot of money not having to use Ikea home delivery for some of my furniture items).

I am sorry to see what happened to the American sedan cars. The Caprice (Canceled) and Crown Victorias (canceled) were extremely popular here. American cars are no longer any one's first choice around here. Japanese and German are people's first choice. I think not even Americans buy American cars. They all look like Japanese wanna-be's .

I looked up Lincoln car line, this is a joke for a once considered a luxury car. Ford, Chevrolete and the rest all look like they are built buy taste-less communists, zero effort or care in design . Just a car to take you from point A to point B.

I believe the truck's are more popular now, I amspecifically speaking about the Ford-150. Other car types are still dong okay like the Mustang, Corvette, and Camaro

I live in an oil exporting country. Our government does not allow gas prices to surpass this price, its controlled. Its been like this for the last 40-50 years maybe.

btw, I learned that oil companies like SHELL and BP actually profits out of oil more than oil exporting company. So if my country makes $10 per barrel, BP/Shell adds so much mark-up they profit $15 per barrel. Numbers are wrong but I am trying to explain how it works.

Still it's ridiculous to pay the 3.50+ that you see over here in north carolina...especially since it's been that high since '08 and no one has done a single thing to fix it. Yet we keep hearing about the keystone pipeline all the time......

Gotta agree with most of the American cars nowadays looking like shit- most of them look like the same car with a different grill slapped on, its disgusting. That's one thing I really like about the Challengers and Camaros right now, they have a much more recognizable and cool look to them than most. Lack of nice design is just sad, that's why I like most of the pre-80s cars, even the ass-ugly ones like the late 70's land yachts have character and a look to them, if nothing else.

What is the incentive to reduce the price at the pump, now that we're used to paying those prices? If I ran a fuel company I would look for ways to cut costs while still selling at the same price to make more money.

And don't knock our $3.50 a gallon price, much of the world pays twice that or more.
