Up to World 7 in SMB3. Doing much better now and enjoying that the levels are more bitesize than I was expecting. There's not a lot negative to say about it on the whole. Don't like the levels that repeat themselves too much I must say. But that is it.

@Noise: Even though Batman is relatively new, it is also probably the best game you have listed. So play it. And play Sonic 3 and Knuckles.

Ok. I need to get back to actual gaming this summer and this seems like a great way to do it. I'm going to list some games for my Nintendo systems I haven't played/finished yet and I'll go from their. I'm usually a dabbler where I play a game for a while and move onto something else.

Kirby's Adventure (NES) - I have this on the Wii and the NES and the remake on the GBA
Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers (NES) - would be fun to play with my kids since they can play along
Kirby's Dreamland 2 or 3 (SNES or Wii)
Super Metroid (SNES) - just got this last year and haven't had a chance to play it
Super Castlevania IV (SNES) - borrowed from mjmjr25 a couple years ago but didn't get a chance to finish it
Donkey Kong Country 1, 2 or 3 (SNES) - the minecart and barrel blast levels always kick my butt
Beyond Good and Evil (GameCube)
Chibi-Robo (GameCube)
Luigi's Mansion (GameCube)
Metroid Prime (GameCube)
Okami (Wii)
Pikmni (GameCube or Wii)
Super Mario RPG (SNES or Wii VC) or Paper Mario - The Thousand Year Door
Super Mario Land 2 (Game Boy)
Metal Slug - any of the ones on the Anthology
Final Fantasy III (DS)
And a Zelda game from among the following: Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Link's Awakening
Plus non-Nintendo:
Psychonauts (oXBox) - I've started it but didn't get very far
Aladdin (Genesis) - I beat the SNES version
Spider-Man: Maximum Carnage (SNES or Genesis)

I also have both GameCube compilation discs for Mega Man and Mega Man Zero Collection (DS) plus the two GameCube Sonic compilation games plus Sonic Adventure 1 & 2. I never have beaten a Sonic or Mega Man game (gasp, the horror).
Wii Ultimate Shooting Collection games or Castle of Shikigami 3

Any help in shrinking this down would be helpful. I'm not gaming until June so I have time but I'd really like to get a nice sampling and knock out some classics this year.

Sure, I'll be happy to help you cut this down:

1. Kirby's Adventure - One of the best in the series. Cut the others.
2. Super Metroid - Considered one of the finest SNES games/Metroid games/Nintendo games
3. Super Castlevania IV - Go ahead and finish this one. And enjoy one of the last of the "traditional" Castlevanias.
4. Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers - Enjoy classic Capcom/Disney platforming with your kids.
5. Donkey Kong Country 2 - The first DKC lacks polish, and a lot of folks consider 2 and 3 a toss up. DKC3 is probably the best, but I don't think you should go straight for it.
6. Beyond Good and Evil - One of the most enjoyable games of its generation in my opinion.
7. Metal Slug - Just go with the first. It's the best introduction to the series.
8. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Probably the most "classic" of the ones you listed, this is a lot of folks' favorite in the series. I prefer A Link to the Past, but that's just me.
9. Pikmin - I'd argue this is one of the defining games of the Gamecube.
10. Final Fantasy III - God help you.

Other maybes:

Metal Slug 3
Dragon's Lair
Another World
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
Sonic 3 And Knuckles

...
Which Dragon's Lair? Please tell me not the SNES one...

Seriously though, swap in Dragon's Lair for Puzzle Quest.

Guess I probably need to do a new list.....dsh keeps reminding me that i need to....for now I know these should be safe and I'll try to sort through my games and add a few more

- super mario bros(deluxe on gba sp with gbc cart)
- Pokemon yellow(gbc with silver being added if I beat this one)
- crystalis (dual going to try and beat both versions)
- dragon warrior
- final fantasy(psp port on vita)
- ys (psp port on vita again)

Now all I have to do is figure out what else I can add....(does wolverine on nes count? That's one I tried playing but got frustrated a month or two ago with)

I've almost beat smb deluxe....currently stuck on 8-2....I really stink at this game :-|
My gameroom
My systems: NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, original gba, gba sp(001), ds lite, 3ds, vita, psp, PSone(101 model) ps2, ps3(320gb model), ps4, retron 5, and Dreamcast.

Puzzle Quest was great, and a great way to incorporate match 3 with RPG. Solid story too. I'd like to see you try that.

Then again, I never really "started" them.

I kinda feel bad for you dar, you seem to take a lot of flak on this site...I think you should play the games you want to play. The point of this is to have fun, not feel guilted into playing games you have no passion to play. Play whatever you want and don't worry about anyone else's opinion.

Well, the pain of John Romero's Daikatana continues, though it has lessened a bit as I have made it past the terrible first episode and into Episode Two: Ancient Greece. I like the Greece section for several reasons: useful, well-designed, and interesting weapons, level layouts that make sense and convey a sense of grandeur, enemy designs that I like and enjoy fighting, and access to the actual Daikatana.

The first episode is horrible, ranging from a large group of horrible enemy designs, poor level design, the lack of the game's signature weapon, swiftly forcing the player into dealing with both problematic AIs, and some interesting-looking but awful weapons. But Greece immediately gives you the Disk(one of my favorite weapons in the game) and takes away the terrible AI for a little while. And even once one comes back, it stays just one for a good while longer.

I'm playing the GOG version, and there have definitely been some fixes. I'm not finding the floating Daikatanas like I did back when I played the game around 2005, nor am I encountering the dead enemies that suddenly turn into stiff, upright corpses when they die. I've encountered a few glitches, and the game froze on my once a few days ago, but beyond that the game is playable. Not good, but playable. I'm mentally comparing this to the N64 version, and I'm realizing that the N64 port did quite a few things I like. Sure, the Daikatana wasn't in it, but neither did you have to put up with Mikiko or Superfly...

Agree 100%. As long as you're not hurting someone by doing so, which you're not, play and do what you want. If you want to play Quest for Camelot and Yu-Gi-Oh do so.
