Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
It's funny because I think it all must come down to where you live because for me I've had quite the reverse experience. At first I would just hit a few yard sales along a common route. I found that 75% of the time I was driving out of my way and getting up early to look at a million Fisher-Price toys that someone's kid had grown out of.
Then I tried hitting the ads that specifically mentioned games. To be honest yeah it's definitely more rigid as far as when you have to get up and get going, but I found that if I showed up on time I did well. The other method was just a waste of my time if I'm being honest.
It depends on your situation though too. I'm a single guy and don't really care for much else that's for sale at these things, plus I'm not looking to spend an arm and a leg getting carried away on other things. If I had a girlfriend/wife and kids I'd probably care a lot more about household items.

don't pass up those Laserdiscs! LOL. I have found many things that I do not need at yard sales. In all honesty, I've found more "random" stuff that I wanted than video games. LOL.

I guess more of what I was saying is don't go out expecting to find anything and your expectations will be exceeded by anything you find.
Just drive around to your regular hotspots if you have any and stop at any sales along the way

True about looking for other stuff at yard sales, broaden your horizon and chances are you will always find something worthwhile I bought a paintball gun with 2 tanks for $2.00 last year, sold it for more than $40, picked up a police scanner for $2.00 as well and sold it programmed ( I programmed it myself easily) for $100. I know some people will gasp and call me an asshole but gas is not cheap, running around yard sailing and flea marketeering uses some fuel and ya gotta eat so I see flips like these as paying for me to find some cool old games and make a bit of a profit occasionally while doing it.

That seems like a good deal, especially if the GBA player had the disc. You seem to have a very skewed view of market prices.darsparx wrote:SoltanGris wrote:Saw a silver gamecube w/ intec LCD screen, gameboy player AV cables and car power adapter for $45 at the GoodWill.do they even know the proper price for that? even with a lcd screen and car power adapter I still wouldn't pay more than $30 for that...
