Why did you fix it for me? Our comedy is world famous as well.
Yes, the thing you do that you refer to as comedy is world famous.

Not having interest in something is being a hater? Interesting.
I didnt think blue text was necessary...

Self depricating humor aside, we do it for fun and enjoy ourselves. If people like it or don't, can't help that. It is what it is. Though you seem to have written it off without even a listen. I guess you wouldn't enjoy our humor anyway.
Well, I surely picked up the "world famous" bit as sarcasm. I'm not trying to be offensive, but why would I listen to a podcast when there are hundreds of people on Youtube doing the exact same thing? CGR, Happyconsolegamer, AVGN, GameChasers - all do slightly different but similar things regarding reviews, humor, and game-chasing - and these shows are just a tiny sample of what's out there. I'm not interested in anything else at this point.

Why would you ever watch video of people playing games when you could just play them yourself? I'd rather listen to people chat on a podcast while playing something else myself...

Well the hook for some would be that it is done by Racketboy forum members that you're an active participant in the community with.

......uhhh maybe you would find the RacketBoy podcast somewhat interesting and informative given that it's done by members of a community where you frequently post and contribute.

Because I enjoy it, as do millions of other people who subscribe to gaming personalities on Youtube. If you guys enjoy doing your thing, that's great, but it's not my cup of tea.

I still think that the main draw of our show is/has been the interviews anyway. When the show was created it was as an NPR-style (think "Fresh Air") style interview show, not a morning zoo/let's make dumb jokes show. We now do both kinds to please all audiences (I guess?), but John and I hit our stride when asking good questions to interesting guests.

I'm most proud of the stable of guests we've accumulated over the past 4.5 years. I think it is a nearly-unparalleled list of folks for one show.

I understand that, but I'm pretty happy with the posting aspect of this site. This is definitely one of the best communities of gaming enthusiasts I've found in literally five years of searching, but I've no real interest in listening to two guys talk on podcast about stuff, even stuff I'm interested in. It might seem strange, and I'm not trying to slight anyone, but it's just the way I feel.

Lol at Game Chasers. Guys who hunt Dallas getting games on the cheap while making boner jokes.

Well, a few reasons... Many prefer a podcast format and dont want video. Several of our listeners download the shows and listen at work or on commutes. So if you are a video only guy, then there's that.

Our content is different from those shows. We at least attempt some level of sophisticated discourse (more humor there). We arent a game hunting show or a mock review show etc... We also try to appeal to the racketboy community. We bring in recent forum discussions for further review, and answer listener questions and feedback.

We also have a bunch of developer interviews. Some of these I think are great (modesty aside) and I am proud of them. We try to ask different questions than the same old ones you often read. In fact, we have had several guests who have complimented us on how enjoyable the interview was because we didnt ask the same stuff as they get all the time. Basically turning a necessary task they have to do into something they enjoyed (their words).

It isnt for everyone sure, but since you asked, these are reasons that may make the podcast stand out to a racketboy community member.

Unless you've watched a few episodes, I wouldn't be too quick to judge. It's actually pretty good, and they also do the special guest thing in the retro community - guys like 8bit Eric, the guys from ChargeBackForward, Gamester81, and many more. Regardless, it's not for everyone, the same as your thing.
