Justified season 5 finale was awesome.

Modern day western for any one who hasn't seen it. Its been announced the show will be 6 seasons. This has been the intention since 2010 though, 6 or 7 seasons, so it'll wrap up nicely. S6 will be legit based on how this finale set it up!

Anyone else been watching the new series called The 100? Not a bad show so far.

Babylon 5.

I love this show, but it's been ages since I've watched any of it. The last time was well before I got the HD TV. The show's still great (I'm surprised how much of it I remember) and the CG still looks pretty damn impressive for something that came out of 1993, but with the new TV I've noticed the DVDs have some video issues that I didn't really notice before.

I looked it up and apparently a lot of the show was shot in widescreen, because the powers that be gazed into their magic crystal ball and foresaw it as the wave of the future (Smart!) But to save some money, some of the more digitized shots were filmed in standard 4:3 ratio. However, if what I've read is to be believed, these instances were shot with the intention of them being cropped and upscaled for later distribution (Smart!) But someone didn't get the memo and just blew and stretched the image to fit instead, making certain scenes grainy as all hell (Dumb!)

For about 90% of the show I don't notice anything and am pretty damn impressed by the video quality, but that last 10%.... That 10% makes me wince.

My wife and I are working our way through Twin Peaks. The first season is just spectacular, but the second season - despite flashes of brilliance - just doesn't hold up as well. We are still enjoying it, however, and I am excited to see how the show resolves all of its many, many sub-plots.

1st season of course was better, but season 2 is still worth the watch - absolutely.

Just finished season 2 of Suits. Was also good. Mike is getting super annoying; I hope they start to drift away from him and keep it more Harvey / Louis, et al - centric.
