I thought about getting the PS3 HD version, but I really didn't want to stress about the trophies (as I hear it's a hard platinum) so I decided to play it in it's original form.

The game was good. Real good. But I feel the controls and camera keep it from being great. I kind of predicted the story about halfway through
as I was sure killing the Colossus' was not the right thing to do after I killed the 4th or 5th one. I did not, however, predict that is it was Dormin who was split up into 16 pieces and after every one he was slowly being restored. The black smoke that envelops you after you killed each one now makes sense. I REALLY loved the twist at the very end where the Wanderer is reduced to an infant with the horns. Glad to see Argo, albeit with a broken leg, survived as well as the princess Mono. I guess Dormin at least kept his end of the bargin and revived her, lol.
I had no interest in playing Ico, but now I want to play it. Is it a direct sequel (I know it was made before SotC)? Because
in Ico, it looks like the protagonist has the horns that the Wanderer had at the end of SotC. So are you the same character in Ico
?
Hey man I am very glad you enjoyed the game. There is more that you can do once you beat the game that you may be interested in sometime in the future.
There is a time attack mode that you now have unlocked which, when you complete each mission you unlock new equipment. Also to answer your question about the horns, yes the child is the same as the one in ico (Stated by the creator of the game series). also, the Last Guardian somehow brings them all together and is tied in in some way.....when the game actually comes out.

Graffix is addicted to trophies and feels compelled to get them and it can sometimes ruin a game for him. I know the feeling with some games.

Wait, you played the inferior version because it lacked trophies? How does that make sense?
Yes. And BogusMeatFactory is correct. My name is Graffix and I am a trophy addict. :D

And "inferior version" is subjective, yes? Actually I was reading this thread on neoGAF: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=756437 and there are quite a few people who feel that the HD version is actually the inferior version. The high fps rate seems to make the grip controls actually harder (page 3 of the thread; poster keisuke999 makes some good points/theories on why that is). And considering my frustrations with the controls already, I don't think I would have given the game a fair chance if they were any worse.

1. Sonic Triple Trouble - Gamegear - (5/10)
2. Hearthstone - PC - (8/10)
3. Portal 2 - PC - (10/10)
4. Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition - PS3 (10/10)
5. XCOM: Enemy Unknown - PS3 (10/10)
6. Tomb Raider - PS3 (9/10)
7. God of War - PS3 (7/10)

So I bought the God of War collection 3 or 4 weeks ago and popped it in. I'm more interested in God of War 2/3, but I figure I should play the first one for the narrative.

I was disappointing with the combo system, I thought it'd be a lot more satisfying, particularly the lack of air/fancy combos. As soon as I got the blade of Artemis, I just decided to roll with that since at least it feels like you're hitting like a truck.

There are spells in the game, but only four. Two of the spells are AOE spells, so they basically do the same thing. One of them is a medusa head which is awesome, but the problem with that spell and every other spell is that they take up a ton of magic, so you always feel a little dumb when ever you use them.

I actually enjoyed the non-combat elements a lot. The dungeons are big, and very well mapped out. Good puzzles/exploration, the lore is tied in very well into everything you're doing. It feels like a really awesome interpretation of Greek mythology.

The story is pretty good, the main plot points happen in flash backs, which explain the origin of Kratos - and it's an interesting twist of irony, though a typical plot that has been done many times before. The ending to the story is good though, and is a perfect set up for a sequel.

Self admittedly, I got stuck a few times not knowing where to go, and sometimes the game is a little glitchey, which got me stuck longer than usual in puzzles. For instance, there is a puzzle where I knew I had to stack two statues on top of each other in order to get some where, but when I tried pushing the statue on top of the other one, it didn't work, so I assumed I was wrong (in the end I was right, after I looked it up on youtube) - so that one mistake where the hitbox was off forced me to go off track. This happened to me 2 or 3 times.

There aren't many boss battles either. The minotaur boss fight is the best one by far in my opinion.

It's a pretty good game, honestly, better than I thought it'd be even though the combat underperformed. Pandoras Tower, which is where you'll spend the majority of the game is a really well made dungeon.

Also, fuck the guy who decided to have you climb up rotating towers that have spikes, a good idea, but the execution was so damn poor.

It's a decent game worth checking out, I give it a 7/10.

So it turns out that there IS no better ending than Ending A in Dead Rising 2: Case West. But there's still a bunch of achievements to deal with, but then again some require me to play co-op.

Did I need to play Ys again? Probably not. Are you surprised? You shouldn't be.

The SMS version of the game is quite primitive compared to the Turbo CD/DS/PSP ports that followed. Movement is slow and clunky and the amount of level-grinding required borders on insanity. The game's still full of charm though, and is one of the strongest 8-bit action-RPGs. And dat soundtrack... I can't listen to the opening theme or the palace music without getting goosebumps.

1/6: Dear Esther (Steam)
1/11: Hydrophobia: Prophecy (Steam)
1/14: Spirit Camera: Cursed Memoir (3DS)
1/26: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (DS)
2/1: 1,000,000 (Steam)
3/14: Thomas Was Alone (Steam)
3/15: Fairy Bloom Freesia (Steam)
3/22: Suikoden (PS1)
3/25: Wizorb (Steam)
3/28: Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams (Steam)
3/29: Fire Emblem: Awakening (3DS)
3/30: Chibi-Robo! (GC)
3/31: Luigi's Mansion (GC)
4/13: Deponia (GOG)
4/13: Shatter (Steam)
4/14: Rusty's Real Deal Baseball - Cage Match (3DS)

Thoughts:
Deponia: This was my first true point-and-click (I've played a few games with point-and-click elements though...), and I went into it thinking I would be awful at it. And I was right  However, even if I was terrible at the odd puzzles and needed a guide for a good portion of it, the dialog and humor was AWESOME. I can't describe it at all really but I giggled a lot while playing (which doesn't happen that often). So even if I wasn't properly playing the game, I still enjoyed it a lot and I'll probably get the sequels eventually :)

Shatter: For some reason I felt the need to play another Breakout clone...? But this one was a lot better than Wizorb. Not that Wizorb was bad, just that Shatter's levels were much quicker (thanks to the ability to pull and push the ball around) and much more forgiving (thanks to the generous amounts of 1-Ups). Plus Shatter has some awesome soundtrack :D Only problem I had was that some of the bosses were a little tricky to figure out I guess? But really that wasn't that big of a deal :)

Rusty's Real Deal Baseball - Cage Match: Ok technically this is a mini-game, but there are a TON of challenges in it, and some of them get really difficult. Took me a while to beat them all haha. The challenges basically consist of you trying to hit whatever the batting machine-thing throws at you, but it's really addicting haha Unfortunately I'm bad at describing it but... it was really fun :D
