That said, regardless of whether any of these anecdotes are actually true, Lee should be credited for being one of the first martial arts instructors to open his school to students of a variety of ethnicities and helping to end the generally racist practice of only teaching students of the same nationality and ethnicity as the instructor.
Last thing is first; I completely agree with your second statement.

Researching the Wong fight was where all of my suspicion began. It's known as "the fight of fights" that Bruce Lee had. Too bad everyone seems to have a different account of what happened.

We've all heard the saying or something similar to it that "myth becomes lore, lore becomes legend, legend becomes truth". That's how history gets muddled with half truths. Besides knowing that Bruce Lee came from a rich family, opened a martial arts studio, and sold movie tickets like no other martial arts performer before, I have no idea to the extent of his fighting ability. He definitely sold and marketed himself professionally and incredibly.

For what it is worth, I could imagine one day having a Grandson who thinks that Tom Cruise flew jets, got any girl he wanted, could beat up anyone he wanted, and was the smartest man to ever live.

And it's not that I want to prove or disprove anything about Lee; to be honest I don't care if he could kick tail or not, but I do wonder. I just have a feeling his was booked for his size, physique, and hamming it up more than anything else.

Would be super cool if he was something of a badass though.

I understand where you're coming from, but you don't necessarily have to be an assbeater to be a badass. Bruce Lee is still pretty awesome for a lot of things beside legit splitting wigs. I'm glad you do acknowledge that, though. For me, I think I'd rather live in ignorance of his true fighting ability and enjoy the legend than find out he had a glass jaw and have everything tainted.

It's the "Never meet your hero" thing.

Exactly. Or in the case of Steven Seagal, "never watch your hero get fat and ridiculous."

So I was watching Gone With The Wind and The Cincinnati Kid, there is a huge difference between the style of dialogue back then and now. Is it possible that people back then used to speak this way in their everyday lives or is this style of talk is purposely used?

One very noticeable thing is the lack of foul language

Well, people did speak differently back then but the way of speaking in Gone with the Wind and other movies of the studio system was done on purporse, it's just how movies were made back then in the US.

A bit glamorized, but yes. That is how some spoke.

I don't curse in front of women, and if someone happens to do so I kindly remind them to watch their language as a lady is present...which has led to some interesting events.

Neither do I curse like a sailor when around the guys, and when I do, I try to make it somewhat funny. Like calling someone a "Nerf-dick".

What's worse than cursing? Teenager talk. Same word used over and over, and in each sentence. "Mom! I'm literally dying because you literally want me to dry my hair when I literally want to let it dry naturally. Like literally, you're literally pissing me off."

That stuff I can't stand. AND I hear adults doing the same thing too, which is even more annoying.
