Yep. If you can get that for $50 it's a no-brainer. Good luck!aaron wrote:i am gonna go by on saturday and see if it's still there. if so i'll let you guys know. it was put out on 3/29/14 and hasn't sold yet, so that tells me that something's wrong with it, most likely the monitor. also the player 1 coin mech is missing and it looks like it's pretty beat up. but, still, for $100, it'd be a neat restoration project.
also this saturday is 50% off day at Goodwill, so if i get there early enough and it's still there, i'll nab it for $50.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Got to a late start today so I missed alot of the out door sellers at the flea market if there were any
was raining all morning.
Still found a few things at great prices. Deals were actually so good that I ended up offering over asking price for most of the stuff I picked up today
.
Finally found a reasonably prices GBC. Got it off one of my reseller friends he was asking for $10 for the lot but I said it was well worth $20 especially since both the gameboy and Pokemon Blue version were in great shape
. He and his wife are both in bad shape so they could use the money and at $20 I felt it was still an awesome grab.

Also found a loose copy of Sonic Adventure 2 Battle in another stall hidden in a beat up Spider Man GCN case under the Spiderman disc. Gave $5 for it even though the seller was only asking for $1
. It was an older guy who is there 24/7 so earning some brownie points with him seems like a good idea
.
Other then that I found an interesting Casino Game/Calculator for $1

Also ran by gamestop since it was close by. Didn't find much but I did get a nice 3DS case as well as a copy of Dead Head Fred for just over $5 total.

Wow. You must live in an area with minimal competition, or you're just really lucky. These are some pretty stellar deals for CL. I'm envious.Grabbed a few nice things this week. I picked up a decent N64 lot off CL for $40 Tuesday, for which I am already working a trade for.
Yesterday I got a boxed NES Action set with 3 games for $60 off CL. I love collecting the NES box variations and I didn't have the Action Set with the gray gun so I'm pretty happy about this one.

Thanks for the info. For better or worse, I'm a purist and refuse to mod my systems. I love them as they are, even if they could be better.KalessinDB wrote:J_Will -- a fellow by the name of Yurkie on AtariAge does a whole host of Colecovision mods, including a controller refurbish with optional ball top replacement for the sticks and cord straightening to get you some more distance on them. IIRC he charges $20 a controller which isn't cheap but isn't ridiculous either IMO.
Have yet to bite the bullet and do it myself (so many other mods that are higher on my list than the CV) but I have heard nothing but praise about his work.
Arrow Flash box & manual from KalessinDB - Thank you so much. I've been holding out for a while hoping to find this. I really appreciate it.
Damn, there's no way I'd pass that up for $100. I wish I could find stuff like that at Goodwill. You MUST go back and try to snag it for $50 if it's still there. That would be one hell of a buy.aaron wrote:a friend of mine sent me this picture of a Double Dragon cab he found at Goodwill.

Oh no. There's too much competition, if anything. I spend way too much time trying to track stuff down and things have really been drying up. I have made friends with 4 other collectors in my city who are at least as obsessive about collecting as I am and I am just missing out on stuff all the time at the thrift stores and flea markets to the same people (who I'm not so friendly with) more and more often. It's annoying. I will say that I have had some decent success lately on Craig's List just by being friendly and not too pushy like a lot of other people are. In my experience selling from time to time on CL, that sort of behavior seems common place. Both of the guys who sold the NES and N64 said other people replied first but they were too aggressive and I was the only one who didn't come off as a ravenous scavenger (or something to that effect). Sometimes it pays just to be nice.vatermuzik wrote:Wow. You must live in an area with minimal competition, or you're just really lucky. These are some pretty stellar deals for CL. Hooray, pictures that weren't taken with a potato. Now we just work on the flash angle management so we don't have to guess that's Cyborg 009. One step at a time.mjmjr25 wrote:Good mail day:

Well found a monitor at goodwill it's a hp pavilion 23bw for $20....it looks as if it should work and the person only donated it because they wanted a newer model....I just have to find the power adapter and hopefully at a cheaper price than hp quoted me for buying direct(since I have the part numbers I should be looking for now
).
