Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
i think that may be the first CIB coleco game ive yet seen, congrats man
Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
I just got a working Colecovision recently and I love it (aside from the wonky controllers). I'm saddened that I didn't get to experience it as a kid but I'm going to have fun playing and collecting for it now.mjmjr25 wrote:First Coleco CIB's arrived today:
Grabbed a few nice things this week. I picked up a decent N64 lot off CL for $40 Tuesday, for which I am already working a trade for.
Yesterday I got a boxed NES Action set with 3 games for $60 off CL. I love collecting the NES box variations and I didn't have the Action Set with the gray gun so I'm pretty happy about this one.
Today I met up with a local collector that the rest of my collector connection recently welcomed and I was able to trade some unwanted stuff for a stack of shit NES games I didn't have and got a non-working Bucky O'Hare for $5. I opened the cart and fiddled with it for a while but ultimately heated up the solder joints on the ROM chips and it works now. =D I think I'm just over 300 licensed carts now.

J_Will -- a fellow by the name of Yurkie on AtariAge does a whole host of Colecovision mods, including a controller refurbish with optional ball top replacement for the sticks and cord straightening to get you some more distance on them. IIRC he charges $20 a controller which isn't cheap but isn't ridiculous either IMO.
Have yet to bite the bullet and do it myself (so many other mods that are higher on my list than the CV) but I have heard nothing but praise about his work.

Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!

I don't have space for it, but I would definitely, definitely buy that. I have good memories of playing on that cab when I was a kid, and although the GBA version is solid, there still is not an "arcade perfect" version of that game available for consoles.

Some good times were had on that beast. I remember begging my grandma for soda and beer cans to take to the store to recycle, for the extra money to play Double Dragon. It was the only Cab they had at this little market at the time. I must've spent $100 in that thing over the years. As an 8 year old kid, that's a lot of beer cans. LOL.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
i am gonna go by on saturday and see if it's still there. if so i'll let you guys know. it was put out on 3/29/14 and hasn't sold yet, so that tells me that something's wrong with it, most likely the monitor. also the player 1 coin mech is missing and it looks like it's pretty beat up. but, still, for $100, it'd be a neat restoration project.
also this saturday is 50% off day at Goodwill, so if i get there early enough and it's still there, i'll nab it for $50.

If you get it for $50 in working order or not, that is a STEAL. Amazing!aaron wrote:i am gonna go by on saturday and see if it's still there. if so i'll let you guys know. it was put out on 3/29/14 and hasn't sold yet, so that tells me that something's wrong with it, most likely the monitor. also the player 1 coin mech is missing and it looks like it's pretty beat up. but, still, for $100, it'd be a neat restoration project.

Re: Video Game "Look what I found"
Definitely. At that price, it is worth it just for the marquee and (totally sweet) artwork.
