Several Ukrainian cities have fallen to the Russian sympathisers. They've declared their independence from Kiev and are calling for Russian intervention.

The Russian army is preparing for an invasion of the Ukrainian mainland. The Ukrainian army has vowed to fight back this time to defend their homeland.

They have seized the government buildings. Basically the police doesn't want to push them back violently, probably because they don't want to become as bad as their previous government, or putin, and they are waiting for them to leave.

Besides there isn't as big a Russian population in those cities as in Crimea (Russian and Russian speaking are 2 different things, by the way.)

I call bull. Heightened military activity ≠ war.. Doesn't make it any less distressing though. I'd like to think that Scandinavia generally has nailed down the formula for balanced social welfare and growth for at least a few more generations ahead. To have to allocate more to the military budget in face of Russian harassment is not very productive to the general population. Shame on Mr. Putin
