True, but I think it will get more people collecting Japanese only games, not to mention getting some people into older systems for a small entry fee. I think it will be good for the younger generations to easily get a huge amount of systems for the price of one or two retro ones.

i'm considering picking this up if it ever gets released soley for the GBA (even if I don't have GBA carts currently). I wonder they didn't all out and include N64, jaguar or Hucard support? saving some for retron 6 or 7? :D

how are hyperkin's products generally like anyway?

The day came and went and I'm still monitoring their Facebook. They said now to not really expect a definite day but it's still going to be this month.

How can you have a retail product launch this month and still not even know what day or even week it will be available?

Hyperkin has been very shady about the Retron 5 and the fact that they are pretty much ignoring questions asked of them is leaving a bad taste in people's mouths. I do not think the Retron 6 will do near as well if they plan on releasing one. I am highly anticipating the Retron 5 and have had mine pre ordered since last August. I have high hopes and I hope it doesn't disappoint.
I am buying all Saturn games, PM me with your offerings and I will let you know if I need the game or not! (Everything must be CIB)

Currently trying to knock off all the sports games, would like to get them <$5 each! Of course if you would like to donate them I will gladly pay the shipping! :)

I got to play the Retron 5 at Super! BitCon last weekend. I went in skeptical after being burned on the Neo Geo X but was impressed. Games loaded quickly and felt very good to play. I tried Super Punch Out which I recently played both on my SNES and Wii U. I did not notice any lag at all. I was really impressed with the filter system. After checking out a few, I found that I really liked the double pixel and scan line combination. It is better implemented than the scan line option in Capcom's retro ports, especially in Third Strike. The controller was pretty comfortable and the micro switched pad felt a lot like a Neo Geo Pad rather than the Neo Geo Pocket, meaning it required a bit more movement to register a direction. It will likely be great for fighting games and RPGs but not so good for platformers.

Luckily it has controller ports. I'm pumped.
