He wants to avoid his insurance being notified and rates going up. I've allowed it on a minor accident w/no injury under the condition he's willing to put up what you expect the damage to be up front as retainer - it can be a nice bit of citizenry.

Laws and insurance are different state to state so maybe this isn't best for your circumstances - but if you mitigate any risk up front it should be fine.

I basically want it to not have happened. :( Too much other stuff on my plate right now.

If he has proof of insurance he shouldn't get a ticket, and if he does the court will more than likely throw it out.
Not all states require insurance (Wisconsin doesn't). Other states are no-fault (Minnesota) and police make no ruling on fault, simply document vehicle X and vehicle Y were in an accident.

Even better than me not getting a lunch break, the 2 people that were supposed to abandon me at 2 are still stuck here too. Hooray we're busy.
Frown: So, my wife's van got hit in a parking lot, and the guy wants us to take it to the auto body place and have him pay it outright. My red flags are going up, but thought I would see what you guys thought.
Don't be a 'nice guy'. I've done that before and gotten screwed. Tell them it's nothign personal, but wait for the police and get a report. Had an idiot come from a side street one evening and tag me and admit he didn't see me. Didn't feel like waiting the hour plus it would have probably taken. I called my insurance as soon as I got home and gave a statement. Other dude didn't even call his until a few days later. it was 2 or 3 weeks before he even gave them a statement and by that time he changed his story and blamed me. Ended up being my word against his despite the obvious delay tactics on his side. So I got nothing despite not being at fault. A police report would have shown I was on the main road with the right of way and wasn't paying attention coming from a parking lot.

:( The fiance finally got me to make an eye appointment for today, even though I believed I had perfect vision.

:) Realized I needed glasses and got a pair. I was being stubborn thinking I could see perfectly

And that's a pretty important piece of information.

8) For the first time in over a year I am alone in the house for a couple of hours. It's glorious.

The more and more people you're responsible for the odder it is when no one is around. I almost don't know what to do with myself at first. I end up playing a crap ton of games of course, I figure it out eventually. ;)
