Just get Wii Fit and/or EA Sports Active. EA Sports Active will get you working up a nice sweat and Wii Fit will help you with balance and body control.
Plus Wii Fit will track your weight and BMI and will passively bitch at you by giving you a high "Wii Fit Age" and giving your Mii a beer gut if your overweight lol.

I am genuinely not too worried about exercise, guys. If my body or a physician tells me I need to seriously fix something/lose weight/build muscle/etc. then I will deal with that problem when it comes. Generally I am in good health and maintain a mostly reasonable diet.
Besides - I really don't like to exercise for the sake of exercising - I'd rather shoot some hoops, kayak, go for a hike, etc. I may run some if I feel like there's a goal other than "general health and fitness" attached to it. In any case, that all starts up when it gets warmer out.

So tempted to comment "Since your toddler has an iphone and an ipad, isn't she exempt from the entire 'Mommy and Daddy are always on their phone' blues?"

I'm betting the suggestion was more because exercise releases endorphins that can help pull you out of whatever midlife crisis funk you might be in.dsheinem wrote:I am genuinely not too worried about exercise, guys. in my experience this takes for-fucking-ever with most games, even with a pretty fast drive. not really worth it if you're trying to move a large volume of disc-based games. the visual check, a good buffer and a strong return policy should suffice; play-testing for 5-10 minutes is another option.Fragems wrote:: Think I may have found my solution to testing discs
. Imgburn has a disc verification option that I'm toying with. Seems to work for PS2 games will test out some other stuff.

I generally try to confirm that my games work when I get them.
I used to test every disc game in its respective console. But now I just pop it in the PC and if the computer recognizes it I say "good enough!"

A few things: Remember that some games like PS1 (and PS2 I believe) have intentional errors on discs that the system looks for since burning programs will try to correct them when making a copy. These may show up for certain scans. You'll be unable to check Dreamcast and Gamecube discs.Fragems wrote:: Think I may have found my solution to testing discs

My practice is to: (1) conduct a visual inspection of the disc; (2) clean it; and (3) play-test it by watching the opening cinematics, starting each game mode, and playing the game for 10-15 minutes (or to the completion of the first level). When I list the game for sale, I state exactly what I did to test the game and state that, while I have no reason to think the game does not work, I cannot represent that the disc performs flawlessly. (Also, I am not sure I would take a game back because it stuttered during the closing credits.
