As long as any downloaded games are still on the 7th-gen stuff, I personally wouldn't care if they're transferable to the 8th-gen stuff or not.

I will make a big guess and say they will all disappear once Sony bring out their new OnLive like service.

@Stark

This is my point, if I had a ps3 last gen. it will not make me buy a ps4 because whatever I got on my PSN account will stay on the PS3 not transferable to the new generation. With the iTunes analogy, I can upgrade from ipod-> Iphone->iPad->iMac and everything will still be there different devices from different generation. Even Apple TV will play your videos and I believe music too.

So they made Elop, ex-CEO of Nokia, the head of Microsoft's Entertainment Division. Who was recently quoted saying that Microsoft should sell the Xbox. Great.

I'm actually looking forward to this game, but this image I saw on Reddit made me laugh.

XboxOne sold 90% of total PS4 sales . That is a very high performance compared with the expectation that it might be a flop. The public really made it look like its going to fail with constant complaints about Kinect, forced online check-up, and a full $100 over the PS4 .

On a side note, COD: Ghosts is selling well despite everyone feeling the hype over COD games has fallen and no one cares any more.

It's been 4 days, and they still haven't sold out? I thought that was a pretty good deal.

Xbone mustn't be doing good :/. The official release date for Greece is September, and yet shops have already started selling it. Not only that, but the consoles are all pretty much collecting dust on the selves.

Greece (specially right now) hardly is an important enough market for them to bring the release date closer, unless they really have a lot of unsold units in their main markets.

PS4s are still hard to find some times, so it means that next gen consoles ARE getting sold here, which for me means that MS is doing even worse than they say.

It was a similar case with the PS3 and 360 in continental Europe (basically the PS3 outsold the 360 by far), but at least it DID have a respectable marketshare. Now even the Wii U might be selling better in all the small European markets (that were always loyal to Sony anyway)

The 7th generation is, in my opinion, the first gen where we saw the handhelds overtake the home consoles in terms of game quality. The lower prices are a nice perk too.

I expect most of my 8th gen gaming to be done on the 3DS and Vita, with some Wii U on the side.

Still no compelling reason for me to get a Xbone or PS4. As of now, both consoles are stocked with games of my three least favorite genres - modern 3D action games, modern FPS, and modern sports titles. A $400/$500 investment for a console is also pretty damn steep.

And with such a huge backlog and a preference for retro titles I'm not sure I'll ever find a reason to get either one.

What are y'alls thoughts on this? Games first, Shenmue fans, and a new person at the helm?

If for any reason, Shenmue III gets announced, I'd steer myself in the direction of that console. I think it's unlikely, but I'd know I'd get a great gaming experience with either the PS4 or Xbox One.
