What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

I have to take at least 3 days off work, without pay, to get certified for a job which I already do every day. My employer has been pretty nice in paying for the certification...several hundreds of dollars.

What ticked me off is the certification course itself: It's made entirely of MP3 files, which are just old dudes talking about things I already know, and badly. There's a lot of irrelevant information, and the lectures meander. They cover all the material, but there's no sensible structure. The MP3s aren't organized by topic; they're just "section 1," "section 2," etc. It's a step below the average lazy high school teacher and far inferior to a good one.

Imagine paying 30k a year for graduate courses that 90% of the time don't teach you jack, rather some dupe reading powerpoint slides that were pre-made and eight years old (and requires attendance...you have no clue how many times I almost got kicked out of the MBA program for telling professors "your class is worthless").

edit* Bumped into an older gentleman who was purchasing Corned beef by the bulk.

"Please tell me you're not going to boil that", I remarked. We ended up having a fairly long discussion on how to properly cook corned beef. Turns out the guy lives in my neighborhood, and I'll be helping him prepare his early St.Patty's day feast, and my wife is also invited.

Small world.

I'll also be preparing his cabbage, potatoes, and soda bread under one rule: My wife and I get all the Guinness and Irish Whisky we'd like (I'm fasting for lent, but you ALWAYS acknowledge a Saint). I'm already ready for St. Patrick's Day.

Frown slash Smile: I'm tapping out. For today at least. Today has been a beast and I plan on getting in my pj's, getting into bed, putting on a movie, and falling to sleep.

Tired dude.

Luke have you ever tried any of the one handed controllers and if you have are there any good ones worth keeping an eye out for? Only have one in my collection so far an ASCII Grip(PS1).

Nope. No need to.

Call it a chip on my shoulder, but...

Well, I will say that somehow, for some reason Daniel Cumstains can beat me in NBA JAM 90% of the time, but besides that I'm a pretty cocksure cookie.

Ah okay  . Figured from your responses that you were a standard controller user but thought it was worth a shot. Always looking for different controllers to add a little variety/challenge to old games.

Last thing I need is another challenge ;)

Speaking of, try playing any game, on any console with only your thumbs.

..and there you go.

One of my good friends lost her arm in a car accident over a decade ago. She plays using one of her feet. It is quite impressive.

smile: Saying goodbye to my collection and sending it to good homes.
smile: seeing space and empty shelves for the first time and actually feel good about it.
What made me mad was going to gamestop to buy a game to only found out that the three copies they had for the game are all scratched to hell
