Smile: FAT TUESDAY! May you all have paczkis and a night full of debauchery.
Frown: The roads are frozen, and school has been cancelled.
Smile: That means another day with my wife staying warm together.
edit*
Smile: Persuaded some friends to stop by for an impromptu Fat Tuesday party tonight, where I'll be a source of entertainment by playing the piano while others play card games and feast.
Frown: Ash Wednesday is tomorrow, which means lent begins and I'll begin my fast. Saint Patrick's Day aside (never not honor a Saint) I will eat nothing and drink only distilled water for a minimum of two weeks, and possibly until Good Friday.
Edit** Imma let you finish, but firt eye needa nother edit
Meh Face: I didn't get the sales job I was after, but not surprised. Fudgin' lucky to be in the conversation for that position anyway. No problem with saying the better guy won on this, as his resume was dumb stupid dope. Plus he knew about everything Adobe.
When I interview someone who says "I'm efficient in MS Office" I'll throw softballs like "How do you do a mail merge"? and they blank. This dude knew his product left and right, and he had NO sales experience. I'm almost glad he got the job as he earned it. I might be crazy, but the "Hi! I want to sell you this, which I know all about and can tell you why you need it, and I promise I'm not a jerk" is the guy I would hire as well.
Here's how it broke down in my eyes:
1) Salary: It's stupid. Not the word or term, but what the company is willing to pay. I did not negotiate salary as I didn't get the final offer, but all I will say is that I'd finally be able to pay for that WOW Lazer Tag hat I've always wanted. (seriously, the hat is only like $7.00 on Amazon. I'm up for a trade).
They didn't mind paying a ton of money to the top dude.
2) Time: They didn't want to train. That was the axe for me. Who could blame them?
Hire, send out, make sales. That's their focus.
3) Old Dude: Dude was older, more experienced.

WHAT CODE?!?!?!
There were two questions like that on my quiz. Got them both wrong.

The correct answer there was false.

That's what I put and I was wrong!
Honestly, I don't want to be "that student" to email the professor about this. Someone else will do it and my grade should be adjusted accordingly.

Thanks, did not even know. I'll celebrate with my wife with mass quantities of food and some hair of the dog.Luke wrote:Smile: FAT TUESDAY! May you all have paczkis and a night full of debauchery.

Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
After the better part of a year... we're giving up.
Mom said that we're leaving Friday. We're packing up, moving out and heading back to the Outer Banks. We're not making this decision on a whim, since none of us want to leave. My mom and brother don't want to leave my niece, who was practically distraught that her "grammy" was leaving again. It breaks my heart. And my mom said she could have been a coordinator at her job at Pizzafari in a year.
And I was loving how close everything was. How I didn't have to deal with an hour-long drive to the nearest department store (the nearest Target's an hour-long walk from where I currently am), or how I would just wander around Target just because I was bored. I also regret all the things I never got to do. I didn't get to go to the water park I work at on my days off. There's still so many rides at the parks I never went on. I never went to Magic Kingdom without it raining so bad we just left or just ending up waiting in line just so my nieces could meet Tinkerbell and her friends (or in that instance, just one of them). I never got to take advantage of the discounts I get at the shops at Downtown Disney, or go to DisneyQuest. And so on.
But I'd like to think we're all a little older and a lot wiser from this experience.
And I like to think of all the things I did get to do.
And now more than ever am I determined to move to New York City. Once I get back to the Outer Banks, I'm gonna start selling my stuff as hard as I can. I'm gonna try to get my old job back at Orange Blossom. Don't know about Food Lion yet, since I think I'd rather try something new. But I'm gonna go back, work two jobs, sell my stuff, sock away as much as I can, and maybe I'll be able to move at least no later than my birthday, which is July 9th.

Imagine (in horror) that your arm ends at your wrist. What's left? Think of a guy doing a "hang loose" gesture as he still has two points to gesticulate with. I usually cradle the controller in my right hand, and use what I have left for the d-pad.samsonlonghair wrote: Allow me to be more specific. What are the mechanics of how you hold and use a controller while you play video games?
Now some controllers can be trickier than others. LB's and LT's are the worse for me. I have to quickly move my arm away from the d-pad to quickly hit the LB or LT, and then get my "hand" to the d-pad in less than a second. Imagine (in horror again) using a gamecube controller, and only using your thumb for the buttons...Got that visualization? So press the green A button, quickly move your thumb to press the RT, and go straight back to the A button. It's not easy, but after a while it becomes second nature.
I prefer d-pads over joysticks every time. I can't "hold" a joysick, so I basically plop my hand on top of it and hope the stick is responsive. You'd think it would be the other way around, but d-pads work the best for me.
When it comes to the Wii, I had to make some adjustments in order to use the nunchuck. I have an elastic band that goes around my thigh that secures the Wii-chuck to as point where I can use it without much trouble. But in short, there isn't a controller I haven't been able to use.
Smile: Five year anniversary coming up on Friday, and the gifts are pouring in. I'm one lucky duder, and I can't thank my pals and family enough. It's tacky to talk numbers, but since it is my friends' doings, I'm not shy to say I've already received about $500usd in cash and gifts to spoil on/with my wife.
It's a time like this when always being a good person to others "pays off". Or to state it in a better light, never expect anything in return, but when someone pays you in return, sometimes it is in spades. So fortunate to have buddies who return favors.
Bonus Smile: Got a call out of the blue about a VP of sales job. The guys who didn't go with me passed on my stuff (resume/pitch/lors) to another company and they are biting. Interview of Friday morning.
