What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

3)Do you use arcade sticks?

4)Do you play lots of light-gun games or on-rail shooters like L.A. Machine Guns?

5)I apologize for my rudeness.
1) Very well.

2) The NES MAX plain sucks for everyone.

3) Only in the arcade. Not sure if the NES Advantage counts, but I use it only for Blaster Master and Fester's Quest. Those games take forever and constant rapid fire for four+ hours. Turbo is kind of a must for anyone.

4) Not lots, but I play them when I hear good things about them (Panzer Dragoon, Starfox, Child of Eden)

5) Don't be silly.

Serious answer to follow.

Allow me to be more specific. What are the mechanics of how you hold and use a controller while you play video games?

:D Cleaned off my NES carts today. Felt great to get 8+ years worth of grime off those things.

We're currently staying at the Ramada Inn next door. Ironically, this is where we stayed when we vacationed her 10 years ago this August (at the time I was interested in studying video game design at Full Sail, but I couldn't get the money together).

:D The Wi-Fi's pretty fast (did a speed test twice and each time the download speed was over 10 Mb/s).

:( But sometimes it's kinda iffy, probably because of other people using it.

:( No microwave in the room.

:( A minifridge, as opposed to the full-sized one we had at the Travelodge.

:( No couch so I'm sleeping on the floor.

 Grandma's leaving for the Outer Banks tomorrow.

:D :D :D - OMG SoCal Regionals fighting game tournament was so hype! KOF and Street Fighter 4 came down to the last round. In SF4AE someone was using Chun Li who was considered low tier! GOD I CAN'T WAIT FOR EVO!!!!!!!!

I have never seen so many adults laugh at something so dumb:

While at the grocery store (I was running low on oyster sauce) I noticed that for some reason EVERYONE who walked down the aisle spotted the spotted dick and either burst into laughter or made some sort of lame joke. Well, if it makes 'em laugh it makes 'em laugh.

Yesterday was a day full of outdoor activities and a night full of gaming. Best part of the day was playing catch with my wife outside We were all super dorky, both wearing Cubs t-shirts and caps. I ended up playing bare handed as my wife doesn't throw many heaters, and I like that *SMACK* sound the ball makes against my palm.

The NES Max is actually pretty good if you do the 360 stick mod. I used an old broken 360 controller. If you've never seen it its worth a google!
I am buying all Saturn games, PM me with your offerings and I will let you know if I need the game or not! (Everything must be CIB)

Currently trying to knock off all the sports games, would like to get them <$5 each! Of course if you would like to donate them I will gladly pay the shipping! :)

Hm. I'll check that out.

The only time I've ever found the Max of use was for the extra lives codes for Spy Hunter on the nes.

Which gets me to thinking...I remember Spy Hunter on the PS2 being pretty incredible, but that was at launch (which was long ago as I rented it from Blockbuster). How does it hold up?

I did a topic about the 360 stick mod for the Max in the mod forums several years ago:
http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 25&t=39216

The original guide is here:
http://www.instructables.com/id/Get-the ... ontroller/

I do not have one at my house right now, but that is because whenever people come over and see it, they usually want to buy them from me. So I still only have one Max. Hey its hard to say no when someone offers you $20 for a $7 controller and a $1 joystick.

Smile - its snowing outside and I dont have to drive to work today.
Ticked - Even though I am a Nashville employee, I technically report to the Atlanta office, so I do not get a snow day.
Smile - my wife however does have a snow day so we are going to watch either The Prisoner or a bunch of movies
Ticked - we are almost out of bread and have no milk, we are going to die!

Thanks fast.

My wife's school is having an early exit today, which means we'll get to spend the day together.

Smile: That Audrey Hepburn commercial remake puts a smile on my face every time I see it. What a looker.

edit* Darn it. Chick-Fil-A gave me a worthless coupon. "Free Grilled Chicken Sandwich" on one side, "with purchase of large fries and drink" on the back. I was running errands in the first place, but still, that was a good waste of ten minutes.

Thing is, I have had coupons from them before where Free meant Free. Not this time.
