360 crapped out again
360 crapped out again
I want to sell it and get a dependable PS3 but i have so many games for my 360 it wouldn't be worth it. Lame.

Is it out of warranty? If it is, you could use this to repair it (it's on back order right now, though).

Well if owning too many games is the problem, just sell those too and start the PS3 collection.
I did the same thing, actually. Never been happier.

Re: 360 crapped out again
I just bought an elite and had the genius idea of making my old loud 360 a little cooler and quieter by replacing the thermal grease with something a little better. No fucking clue what the hell I did but now it's 3 red ringed. Pulled it apart and checked to see if it was put back together properly or if perhaps I broke something but to no avail. It all looks fine. It powers on fine, but rather than display an image it just makes a pop sound through the speakers and then displays the rrod. Cheap peice of rubbish. After all the mods I've done on consoles over the years I've never broken one before.Hell my xbox 1 has taken a beating over the years with all the things I've done and still do to the poor thing and it's still going hard. So why is thier new console so fragile when the old one was so bullet proof. On a positve note , my elite is very quiet. Which was my biggest complaint about the 360.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

If it's out o/warranty, get an arcade 360 and slap your old hdd on it (at least I've heard people do that).Jmenglan wrote:I want to sell it and get a dependable PS3 but i have so many games for my 360 it wouldn't be worth it. Lame.

Re: 360 crapped out again
if it isn't RRoDed and it is just "unplayable disc" I'd be interested in taking it off your hands.
Re: 360 crapped out again
I considered doing that but then its gonna rrod of me again and going to the store and buying a new one each time that happens is ridiculous.D.D.D. wrote:If it's out o/warranty, get an arcade 360 and slap your old hdd on it (at least I've heard people do that).Jmenglan wrote:I want to sell it and get a dependable PS3 but i have so many games for my 360 it wouldn't be worth it. Heh i kinda know how you feel, a friend of mine modded my system, to make it quieter and not get as hot, even added some blue lights to it.Droid party wrote:

Re: 360 crapped out again
Rough. Sorry man. The only cure i guess is to send it back to microsoft, but then they just give you another referb. And those are pretty much ticking timebombs.Jmenglan wrote:nickfil wrote:if it isn't RRoDed and it is just "unplayable disc" I'd be interested in taking it off your hands.

If it counts for anything- i think that the newer 360s are a bit less fragile. You could probably get a new arcade and be fine. (though, you shouldn't have to buy a new system at all. imo if microsoft really wanted to make it right they would instead give you a new system rather than a referb) It is a shame that microsoft started to get it right so late in the game and give the short end of the stick to their first users.
